JOHNNY BOHM

With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of Janos (Johnny) Bohm. 

John passed away peacefully early morning Sunday, Nov.1, 2020 after a two-month long battle with cancer. He fought his diagnosis with a brave heart and dignity so very consistent with who he was. 

Johnny was definitely a character, unique in many ways. His mannerisms and quirkiness were endearing to those that knew and understood him. The way John lived his life was so specific to him. He had few worldly possessions by choice, but he had his favourites. Few would argue that those were beer, conversation and reading the paper. John tended to live privately and kept his cards close to his chest which made it, as a friend, even more rewarding to be let in. 

He was an unassuming person and people tended to want to put him in a box, not knowing how clever and bright he really was. Nothing got by him even though he would rarely voice it. 

John was an extremely good judge of character, was known to be brutally honest (John was always the unedited version), and was an unwavering and loyal friend who had a memory like an elephant. 

John was employed at A+B Mechanical until the time of his passing. He was a dedicated employee, who would often approach people and tell them how happy he was to be celebrating the various anniversaries of his work there. He was proud of his job and the responsibility that it came with. He also loved his truck and took such good care of it. 

Johnny looked forward to the annual Christmas party at A+B Mechanical where when Jon entered the room, you would hear an enthusiastic ring out of “Johnny” from his work mates.

Though he was an understated man, he was also incredibly determined. We were all impressed at the way he turned his life around and quit smoking, another anniversary John loved to celebrate. 

John was a fixture in Osborne Village and cultivated many friendships there. Everyone seemed to know him and would stop and chat whenever they would see him. He was creature of habit and had his daily routines, one of which was touching base with his community. He was especially close friends with Judy, Arden, Hannah, Georgia and Lynda at Silver Lotus. As well as his good friend, Brian at Stradbrook Chiropractic Centre. 

Johnny will be missed dearly by his friends in the Village as well as his friends and fellow employees at A+B. 

A contribution to Canadian Cancer Society in John’s honour has been made from A+B Mechanical. 

We will all miss you, Johnny and are so happy to have known you. Your strength in life and your cancer journey has left a mark in our lives. May you rest in peace.
