ADRIAN HANS DAVID BONDESEN

August 9, 1985 – July 2, 2024

Adrian is survived by his parents, Bruce and Tammara Bondesen; and his sister Amelia Rose Bondesen.

He is dearly loved and will be missed by his aunties, Edna Bondesen and Rebecca Bateman from Vancouver.  He will also be missed near and far by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Adrian was born at noon on Friday, August 9, 1985 at Misericordia Hospital.

He attended Isaac Brock for elementary and graduated from Kelvin High school and between these schools made many good and lifelong friends.

He had a passion for sports at an early age and played hockey and soccer at Isaac Brock Community Club. Those early sports helped him develop teamwork and sportsmanship. Adrian also loved skateboarding with his buds over at Ray and Jerry’s.

He worked as an electrician apprentice and excelled in computer and phone repairs.

Shortly after grad, Adrian developed a travel bug.  He worked at the Banff Springs Hotel and while there took to deep caving with his friend. His travels also took him to Europe twice where he visited England, France, Istanbul. He ran with the bulls in Spain and sampled the cafes of Amsterdam.

Adrian loved nature, so it’s no surprise he had an annual retreat at Birds Hill Park for the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Adrian was first a guest at Folk Fest when he was eight years old. He later followed a family tradition and volunteered for 8-10 years with site crew and others. He introduced many of his friends to Folk Fest where they all joined in the spirit of the event.

Adrian lived life to the fullest.

He was loved by many and returned that love fully and completely.

Adrian’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Adrian was a dear friend of mine in childhood. For many years, we pretended to be superheroes together. I fondly remember his family home with his wonderful parents and siblings. Later, when I went to Kelvin High School, he welcomed me again as a friend, and his kindness I still hold dear today.

My condolences to Tamara, Bruce and Amelia.

Adrian was the son of my very best friend Tamara, we met when our children were very yound, around 6 or 7. Adrian was a very cute kid, always loving and caring about others. My daughter spent many weekends having sleepovers with and the Bondeson family and Adrian liked to have fun with his sisters. RIP Adrian

Adrian was an extraordinary friend, especially during my childhood and teenage years. I have vivid memories of our shared adventures—playing with army men toys, attaching plastic bags to them, and eagerly watching as they soared through the air. We bonded over playing basketball, immersed ourselves in the latest comic books, and enjoyed simple joy of being kids. Our friendship was filled with countless wonderful moments.

During my tenth-grade year in high school, Adrian and I spent every lunch hour together. His large group of friends welcomed me, and he made sure I always had a reason to smile. Learning of his passing was a painful experience. Everything that reminds me of him now carries a feeling of sadness and a sting to my eye, because I know he is now gone. Adrian was not only a good friend to me but also felt like a brother to my family. My heartfelt condolences go out to his Parents and loved ones during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Tammara, Bruce and Amelia. I haven't seen Adrian for more than 20 years but I went to elementary school with him. We went to dances at Issac Brock community centre, McDonald’s lunch’s, threw snowballs at cars from behind snowbanks and he gave me his grandmother’s engagement ring in grade 2 (which we promptly returned). Seeing that Adrian passed is a heartbreaking shock. Rest in peace Adrian.

Such a bright light. I taught all of the kids and appreciated their difference and support for each other. I am so sorry for the pain that the family has to endure again.
