HELENE JULIETTE BOUCHARD

(née PAINCHAUD)

Heaven brought home another Angel on January 27, 2024.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Helene.

Helene loved life; she lived every moment to the fullest.  Her greatest love in this life was her husband of 34 years, Roger.

She leaves many more people to mourn her loss; her mother Rita, sisters Doris & Louise (Pat), brother Paul (Sharon), mother-in-law Florence, brother-in-law Geebee (Jacqueline), sister-in-law Louise (Tom) and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her father Maurice, father-in-law Claude and sister-in-law Rita.

Helene was such a force of life, she had many extended family and friends that she loved getting together with for dinners, playing cards and pool parties.

Helene had a very adventurous nature and she never let anything hold her back. Some of her greatest adventures were cruising the high seas, going to fairs and craft sales with her girls.

Planning trips, weather it be for weeks or a few days really excited her and she would research what to do so the days would be packed too the fullest.

Helene was also the biggest "FOODY", she loved making new things and having people over for dinner.  She loved Mexican and Sea Food.

One of Helene's greatest joys was planning family BBQs by her pool.  She would take care of all the planning and Roger did everything to make the day special for her. Her best days were sitting back and seeing all the people she loves enjoying themselves in her pool.

Helene also loves her babies.  Dante will be looking for his mama for a long time, not knowing where she has gone and as sad as Helene would be to leave him, she knows Roger will be taking the best care of him and she is reunited with her other babies; Pepper, Sundance and Butch.

Helene changed all of our lives, she touched all our hearts and she showed us how to live life too the fullest.

Helene suffered with many health challenges for so long, rarely ever complaining or letting those challenges hold her back.

She was a bright light in our lives and we will forever miss her beautiful bright eyes, big smile, her infectious giggle and big welcoming hug everyone we were in her presence.

Rest in peace beautiful angle, until we meet again!

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grace Hospital ICU unit.

I met Helene while planning the Gutsy Walk together many years ago. I was drawn to her smile and positive attitude. We shared our personal battles with Crohn’s disease with each other. I quickly learnt of her many challenges through out the years. I was in awe of her ability to battle through and forge ahead no matter what, all with a smile. She became my hero and I gave her the nic name of C 1 and I became C2. She will forever in my heart by my “ Hero”! Heaven has gained a shining star❤️

I met Hélène on her ninth birthday and we have been friends ever since. For more than fifty years we celebrated life, love, hopes and dreams. We also commiserated about life, love, hopes and dreams, and the challenges of living with autoimmune diseases. Although distance kept us from seeing each other often, I will always cherish the long letters we exchanged when we were in our teens. Written on vividly coloured stationery (remember those sets?) Hélène’s favourites were lime green or purple. Cards and notes sent in our later years, and marathon phone calls that would last until our phone batteries ran low, were highlights for me.  My deepest condolences to Roger, her family, and many friends who will miss Hélène’s exuberance, positivity and infectious laugh.
