RITA CECILE BOUCHARD

November 26, 1961 - October 21, 2022

It is with heavy hearts, we announce that Rita passed away from a brief battle with cancer on October 21, 2022 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 60 years.

She was predeceased by her father Claude Bouchard, she leaves to cherish her memory; her mother Florence Bouchard (née Desrochers), sister Louise (Tom), brothers Roger (Helene), Gilbert (Jacqueline) and nieces and nephews, Nicole, Raymond, Carolyn, Daniel, Joanne.

Rita was a devout catholic and loved God above all else. She spread his love and work by volunteering at various organizations throughout the city with Florence (Mom) giving of herself and time to help, comfort and reassure everyone she could by sharing Gods love and word, she truly lived by Jesus example.

Rita was very outgoing and not afraid to venture out on her own. In 1993 she moved to Radway to attend Bible College and grow in her faith. She then moved to Edmonton and worked for many years at the convent cooking for the nuns and enriching her spiritual growth further.

She lived in Edmonton for several years, where she created ties with many friends with whom she never lost touch. She returned home to Winnipeg and her family after her Dad’s passing.

We will miss her smiling face every time we get together as a family… at Christmas, Easter and all our family events and gatherings.

Rita we are so grateful for the time God gave you to us in this life. By the example you lived your life, you are most deserving of all God’s blessing and graces. We pray that God embraces you in his love and keeps you until we see you again.

In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Missionaries of Charity, 167 Aikins Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2W 0A1.

Rita&9;s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

I am so sad to hear that Rita has passed away. I had the pleasure of working/volunteering with Rita for many years, quite a while ago. Rita was very generous with her time and it was important to her to help those in need. I am so fortunate that our paths crossed because I gained a unique friend whom I admired for her tenacity, her hard work and honesty. Repose en paix chère Rita.

I am heartbroken to hear of Rita's passing.  She was a beautiful soul that radiated such joy and love to everyone she met.  I will always remember her deep and unwavering faith and trust in Jesus.  May He welcome her into His Heavenly Home, filling her heart with unending joy.

As much as we would love to be at the funeral tomorrow, we cannot be due to health concerns. We will pray for you at that time.   ❤

My condolences to all of the Bouchard family. Rita was a very caring person as was obvious every time I saw her with her mom. I enjoyed her company several times over the years at Roger and Helene's.❤

I was struck with such sadness at the news of Rita’s passing. Though we had not been in touch for many years I cherish the memories of our twenties and thirties together, especially the road trips in her beloved little car.  Rita found fulfillment in her faith and I am comforted in knowing that she is finally in the embrace of the saviour Jesus she so adored and served.
