SUSAN DARLENE BRECHMANN

(née RAMSAY)

Jan 14, 1972 - May 17, 2022

We are saddened by the loss of Susan Brechmann at the age of 50.

Susan was born in Killarney, MB to Ferne and Leroy Ramsay. She spent her early years in Crystal City, MB, moved to Swan River, MB in 1983 and Brandon, MB in 1990, where she met and married Adam Brechmann. They moved to Winnipeg, MB shortly after marrying and made Winnipeg their home for the next 18 years.

Susan’s passing is mourned by her husband Adam; her brother Michael (Jackee) Ramsay; sisters, Karen (Larry) Isham, and Sheryl (Don)Charleton; step-mother Mabel Ramsay; step-sister Christina (Kevin) Steele; step-brother Kelvin Berehulka, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.  She also leaves behind step-father John Fawcett and his family.

Susan was predeceased by her parents Ferne and Leroy Ramsay.

Susan was a kind supportive and caring person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved cats, movies, going out to dinner, playing board games and crafting.

She was proud of her years teaching, especially when contacted by former students who told her what a difference she had made in their lives. Unfortunately, Crohn’s disease sidelined her teaching career and she battled it for nearly 30 years until it took her life.

The family would like to thank the staff of 7A West at St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care given to her in the last 10 months that she was in hospital.

Cremation has taken place and the family has chosen a private interment.

My friendship with Susan stems from childhood in Crystal City. Our parents were friends and my sister and I were lucky to have made a good friend in Susan.  Her siblings ( Michael too ) all babysat me and my siblings and Susan would come along.   We had great fun as kids doing everything from playing with kitties at her house , to popcorn eating contests , to ‘dress-up’ bike rides around our small town.  Susan taught me how to finger knit and we knit the biggest ball of wool we could to take to “Show and Tell” at school.   I am thankful to have been able to be with her for her Grade 12 Grad in Swan River and to see her so happy at her  and Adam’s wedding.    My condolences to Adam , her family and her friends.  I will hold Sue dear in my heart always.         Lori Baron (Cudmore)

So sorry to hear of Sue’s passing. She was very welcoming to us in the ‘Stoma’s R us’ group and provided us with a lot of support. Sending love to her family, and especially Adam.

Sue and I spent our university years together. She was a great friend of mine. Sur took a term as one of my teachers in Lundar. Though we had only reconnected a couple years ago, I will miss her forever. Hugs to all of her family and friends.

My condolences to Sheryl and Don and family. Your sister was a lovely person. She had a great laugh and being in her presence made everyone smile. She was a brave young lady and will be missed. Hugs to all the family.

It's so difficult to see someone pass so early. You'll be missed yet you're with us in memory and spirit. Say hi to all. T
