EILEEN BREWER
July 14, 1952 – March 9, 2025
Although I am sad to announce the passing of my dear wife, Eileen Brewer, on March 9, 2025, I rejoice that she is now home with her Lord and Saviour.
Eileen was born on July 14, 1952 near Plum Coulee, Manitoba. She and her parents moved to Winnipeg in 1971. She worked as a housekeeper for 30 plus years at the Misericordia Hospital, and after retirement, as a casual at Tuxedo Villa.
On July 17, 1976, she married the love of her life, Gus Brewer. Their foundation was based on the Lord Jesus Christ, and together they served him in many capacities over the years.
Eileen was a big cat lover, loved going out for coffee with friends, and relaxing with a good book.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Phil and Tina Thiessen; brother Harry and his wife Diane; and brother Jack, and his wife Marlene.
She is survived by her husband Gus Brewer; sister Lorna (Dick) Giesbrecht; and many nieces and nephews.
I am very appreciative of the exceptional care Eileen received at Oakview Place and the Golden Door Geriatric Centre.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 5, at St. Vital EMC – 2005 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, Pastors Jerry Plett and Ralph Unger officiating.
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord”.
(2 Corinthians 5:8)
Eileen’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Dear Gus. We ask the Lord to comfort you as you grieve Eileen's passing. She was such a kind and caring person and the love of your life.
Thessalonians 4:13-14:
"But we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him".

Due to the distance, we didn't spend much time together in the last years. But you will be missed in my heart. You are home with the Lord now.

What a precious soul to go home to be with her Lord. We have lots of wonderful memories. Her love for cats and the fun we had playing games and eating pie stand out. She had such a big and caring heart and her love could be seen in whatever she did. She was a great friend and she will be missed. Our prayers are with you, Gus.

Auntie Eileen. You will be missed. I have fond memories of spending a week each summer as a kid with you and Uncle Gus. I know that you longed to have your own children, but I think that for us nephews and nieces, you guys were the "cool" auntie and uncle because you didn't have kids of your own. You had so much love to share. And not just with your blood relations. You "adopted" several kids into your family that you mentored and nutured through the years. We will all miss you.
I went looking through our pictures, and found some of Christmas 2013 that was at our place in Mitchell.
Uncle Gus, I hope you know you can call us anytime!

Oh......My Eileen...My Sister-in -Law.
what a beautiful picture of Her.....
This makes her passing real for sure.🥲
But...no more sadness or sickness for Her and to be reunited with her Loved Ones in Heaven. She looked forward to our outings when here in New Brunswick.....at my house, at the Lake, out for shopping sprees and dining at Pizza Delight buffets and East Side Marios enjoying pasta..We shared some good times....
And..yes Guthrie..you were the Love of her life for sure..
Rest in Peace Eileen.
you are Missed.
Prayers,, Love and Blessings to you Guthrie
Amd sincere sympathy to ALL of Eileen's Family.
From Valarie
