MABEL BROCKHILL

1919-2019

It is with great sadness that we announce Mabel’s passing, in the Seven Oaks Hospital, on November 11, 2019, in her 100th year.

Mabel’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved to be surrounded by family and one would often see her just standing there, taking them all in and absorbing the moment with a smile on her face. She will be forever known for her easy laughter, mischievous nose crinkle, and shoulder shrug. She loved her summers at the family cabin on Brereton Lake in the Whiteshell. There she spent her summers along with her grandchildren. So many fond memories and the stories of those days were told and re-told again with so much joy. Another great joy for Mabel was bingo. At bingo she had many friends and good times. She loved the social activity of the game and always looked forward to seeing her friends. Mabel lived at the Kiwanis Village for 30 years and had many friends whom she adored, especially Maddy. Thank you Maddy, for all you did for Mabel.

Friends and relatives are encouraged to share in stories and condolences for the family using the comment section on this page.

Mabel was predeceased by her husband Lloyd; son Robert (Bobby); brother Albert (Bussy); parents Harry and Elizabeth (Kinne) Oar. Left to miss her deeply are daughter Patricia, grandchildren David (Darlene), Jodi (Sandy), Jackie, Shirley (Christopher), and Krista (Troy); great-grandchildren Matthew (Michelle), Amanda, Maria, Cade, Madison, and Connor; and great-great-grandson, Jackson.

Cremation has taken place and at Mabel’s request, no formal services will be held.

My Great Grandma was my best friend. The one I told everything to. The one I called when anything happened... good or bad. I will treasure our memories together forever. Grandma thank you for being my best friend, the best Grandma I could have asked for and now my angel❤️ I’ll miss you forever.

I often find myself thinking of calling you to see how your day was and then I remember you’re gone. I’m missing you Grandma Dar

Mom and Grandma what a wonderful life you had.  So many wonderful memories of our summers at the lakes, bingo & casino nights, and time spent at family gatherings.   You are always in our hearts.   Love your devoted daughter and grand-daughter.

Her laugh rang through the house as soon as she entered. It was fun and a privilege to share her later years. Fly high Mamie!

Flood of memories for sure. Always enjoyed going to visit her at Inverness or having her make the long trip down to White lake for BINGO. She played so many cards at once it was crazy. My favorite Aunt. When I  play Kinsman Bingo tonight I'll have her in mind for sure. Garry

Grandma Brockhill left for heaven to tell our dad and our grandpa everything that they missed these past 18 years.  She lived a beautiful and fulfilled life at 99 years old.  She had zest, she was funny, had a outgoing personality, a laugh and a sense of humour that could light up any room! We were blessed to have had so many childhood and adult memories with her. We were even more blessed that she remained a part of our own children’s lives. Give our dad and grandpa a huge hug from us. We are at peace that your are with your son and husband.  We love and will miss you grandma. Xo Love your grand daughter and family, Krista ❤
