Werner Brohl

WERNER BROHL
February 23, 1937 – January 20, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Werner on January 20th 2026.
Werner was born in Lohndorf Germany on February 23, 1937. He came to Canada in 1957, without family, to start a new adventure. He often told the story of how he landed here without a word of English and only six dollars in his pocket. Werner landed a job in construction just hours after he arrived. He later trained in masonry, starting his own company a few years later.
Werner met his wife Anneliese at the German club in Winnipeg where they both loved to go dancing. He was often heard to say how proud he was of his four children, Angela, Manfred, Evelyn and Heidi.
Werner was a very social and humorous man who kept everyone laughing at his sense of humour. He loved to spend time with his friends and family playing Skat and Skip-bo. When no one was around he entertained himself with Solitaire.
Werner leaves behind his children, Angela, Manfred, Evelyn, Heidi; and his long time partner Andree. Also nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Werner was predeceased by his parents, Mathias and Julianna; his siblings, Gerold and Elizabeth; and his wife Anneliese.
Werner with be fondly remembered for his amazing brick work, his jokes and his loving heart.
Celebration of life will be held in spring for family and friends.

My condolences to Evelyn and all family. Your dad was a character, and full of charm! My favorite memory of him is from many years ago at an event in the German Club. I broke the heel from my shoe in the snow when leaving the club. Weeks went by, and Ev's dad came into the salon one day with something in his hand. It was my heel!!! He succeeded at being my prince charming!
Take comfort knowing the music never ends....dance on, Werner
