LILLIAN BROWN

August 12, 1924 - June 7, 2021

Lillian Marjorie May Brown passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and her loyal dog at the age of 96.  She is survived by her sister Gladys; children, Dwight, Mark, Karen, and Wayne; grandchildren, Amber, Dustin, Lyndon, Koraley, Kaitlynd, Lee, and Samantha; great grandchildren, Marley, Madden, Orion, Leo, and Finley;  As well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her husband, Morgan; parents, William and Martha; brother Bob; and her daughter Judy.

Lillian was born in Brandon, Mb on August 12, 1924. She was the oldest of 3 children. She went on to graduate from Briercrest College and Seminary in Saskatchewan.

A lover of the outdoors, Lillian enjoyed cross country skiing, skating, long walks with her dog, and travelling.  Her favourite place to be was at her cabin in Clear Lake, Mb, where she had been going since she was a little girl. She spent entire summers there with her granddaughter.  She loved it when her family and friends would visit her there.  As she was an avid reader, she owned a Christian bookstore there that she was immensely proud of.

Her faith was the most important to her.  She loved going to church and was incredibly involved in it.  She enjoyed teaching in the children’s ministries.  She was very generous, donating to many charities.  Every year, Lillian would put together 30-100 Christmas boxes for Samaritan’s Purse.

Her family was her pride and joy.  Every year, she would host big dinners for Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter for her family and friends.

Lillian was such an important part of so many people’s lives.  She even ran a bible study at her house for her grand children and their friends.  She was often in the kitchen cooking and baking, always having goodies in the freezer for people to sneak.

Lillian lived her life to the fullest, even after her stroke she fought so hard to stay positive and never let her faith waiver. She did not fear death because she knew there was a spot in heaven waiting for her.  She made a positive impact on everyone she met.  We will never forget her infectious laugh.  She will be deeply missed.

Donations can be made, in her name to Life Outreach International, in lieu of flowers.

Lillian's family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

Psalm 23 - The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures.  He leads me beside still waters.  He restores my soul.  He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

So sorrowful to see the world lose such a beautiful person.  She meant so much to me and .y family.  We shared many of the same experiences and her love and godly wisdom was treasured and appreciated many times through the years. Her visits to Ontario were always a time of blessing and joy.  Her constant unwavering faith was an inspiration to all. She was instrumental in bringing reconciliation to my family when there seemed to be no hope.   We will be eternally grateful to her    She will never be forgotten   - from her sister-in-law Marlene ❤

To my very "Special Aunt". I have too many wonderful memories of you to write them all down. My fondest one, aside from our vacations & visits together would be when you flew from Winnipeg to Toronto and sat in the cockpit jump seat. When they buckled you in, you were so petite that your tiny legs were dangling as you couldn't reach the floor!!  I will miss our lengthy phone calls. You always had such great advice & a calming loving spirit.  You will be truly missed by many.  I can't wait to see you again in Heaven one day soon. To my cousins, my condolences to all of you. Karen, your mom was so grateful to have you care for her all these years and she spoke of that many times as well as how truly thankful & blessed she felt under your care. Koraley & Kaitlynd you did an amazing job on your Grandma's video, absolutely beautiful. She would be so proud of you! Much Love, your niece Gail ❤💜❤

Such a beautiful, sweet and gentle earth angel.  A favorite memory, I hold close to my heart, is spending the summer of 1978 at the cottage with Lillian, Judy, Karen and Wayne.  Wonderful times together of conversations, laughs, meals and music.  My heartfelt condolences to the entire family at this difficult time.  She will be always be with and watching over you.❤
