Predeceased by her eldest son Robert, her sister Sandy and her parents Harold and Mary.

Marilyn leaves behind her two surviving children Andrew and Sherry and her sister Christine; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; and her niece and nephews.

Marilyn was born on November 20, 1939, and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Marilyn was a spirited strong willed independent woman. She had a passion for sewing and knitting, creating many treasured sweaters and gifts for her loved ones.

She had strong family values. She was dedicated to her family and worked hard to provide for and support her children. She strived to raise them despite the obstacles she encountered during her life and took immense pride in her children and their accomplishments.

Marilyn cherished the time she spent with grandchildren Amber, Elaine, Alex, Stephanie, Matthew and Amanda and great grandchildren Riley and Kyle.

Marilyn lived in various cities throughout Canada. In the 1980’s, she moved to Toronto where she enjoyed many happy years. While in Toronto she met wonderful people and formed warm bonds. She moved back home to Winnipeg in 1997. Upon her return she reconnected with her lifelong friend, the next-door neighbor.

A passionate animal lover, Marilyn had several beloved pets throughout her lifetime, each holding a special place in her heart. She had an unwavering amount of compassion for the underdog and passed her kindness down to her family.

Her family will hold many wonderful memories, and she will be missed.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die.

Mary Elizabeth Frye
