SHAWN ROBERT BROWN

It is with heavy hearts that after a lengthy health battle, we announce the passing of Shawn on February 11, 2026, at Health Science Centre at the age of 59 years.

He is survived by his son Dustin (Kathryn) Brown; Stepson Randy Goshey; grandchildren, Bryce Meeches-Brown, Scarlett Nash-Brown, Gavin Goshey; Dustin’s mother Shelley Goshey; Siblings, Scott (Shelley) Brown, Shannon (Mike) Benne. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Ken and Eleanor Brown.

Dustin and Kat were constantly by Shawn’s side throughout his illness. If dad needed or wanted anything they would drop everything day or night to tend to his needs. It was with dignity and compassionate care with no regrets. We considered it a true blessing and honour to do this for our dad in the works of God and Jesus Christ our Saviour. I, Kathryn, was deeply honoured and blessed to help with Shawn/dad’s medical care.

Shawn, throughout his life did what he wanted, but he was always there for his son (Dustin) which he thought was the greatest thing he ever did. Shawn had a special relationship with his sister (Shannon) for which he was very grateful for, she would always be by his side if he needed her for anything. 

Shawn had many jobs throughout his life: baker, caretaker, petroleum construction labour, but the one he loved the most was being a father. Shawn will also be greatly missed by his brother (Scott) whom Shawn and him had a relationship only brothers can know.

In Accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held for close family and friends at a later date.
