ANN BRUCE
(née Mandzuk)
May 1, 1928 – January 21, 2025
On January 21, 2025 with great sadness we lost a kind soul today; our mother Ann Bruce. Mother got her wish by passing away in her sleep, she is not suffering anymore.
Mum was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Kathleen Mandzuk; her husband Archibald Bruce (2006); her sister Mary Luddick; and her brothers, John and Bill Mandzuk.
Mum was a caregiver all her life, raising two daughters, later in life caring for her husband, her own mother, and for a short time her brother Bill. When she needed extra care she moved in with her daughter Lori. Mum was 96 years old when she passed away.
Ann was a good and kind lady who was always there for her family. She lived on her own in her condo for 17 years, enjoyed playing Scrabble with her good friend Elsie and drove her own car into her late eighties
Remaining to forever cherish her memories are daughters, Kathy Simeonidis and Lori Graham (Jamie); granddaughter, Christine Simeonidis-Cooper (Jeff); great grandchildren Kaleb and Noah; granddaughter Samantha (Ameya); grandson Nickolas Simeonidis; and great grandchild Arlynn. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whose presence always brought a smile to her face, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mum wrote some instructions for her final wishes: In accordance with my wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A private family graveside service will occur at a later date.
My life on earth is truly past,
I’ve loved all of you to the very last,
Weep not for me, but courage take,
And love one another for my sake.
Her family will miss her greatly, she was a very special lady.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital and the doctors, nurses and aids at Misericordia Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care of mum.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the St. Boniface or Misericordia Hospital.
Ann’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Kathy and Lori, so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear Mom. I still remember that Saturday evening so long ago, Kathy, when we discoveered our Moms had been childhood friends. All because we were talking about having to wear 'white church gloves' when we were little kids!! It was such a nice afternoon when we reunited the Moms at your home on Kilkenny. I think theor bond was always strong even though they lost touch. Please take comfort in all of your wonderful memories as I have found they will sustain you for years to come. Love you Gals and think of you often xoxo

I consider myself blessed having Ann in my life via her granddaughter Christine and daughter Kathy. I didn't have grandparents growing up, so upon meeting Ann treated her with protocol which she melted away with her love and acceptance. She could see through all and always had a seat for me at family dinners. Her giggles and cabbage rolls I will forever miss and treasure. Ahhh...her giggles....
Safe travels Ann. Archie has been waiting for you.
- They broke the mold after you, kind sweet Ann.
Love and empathy to all that loved her.
