Sincere condolences to the Buchanan family. Sending hugs and prayers. I will always remember the twinkle in Bruce's eyes when he pulled one over on you. And Elaine was his real soul mate. I had the privilege of getting to know them when working at Brooks Industries in Crystal City. They talked so lovingly about their children I felt I knew you! May your happy memories of them sustain you, may their smiles never be forgotten.

Sending condolences from over the pond. Kate and I have happy memories of Bruce and Eileen's hospitality after the Howard reunion in 2012. Eileen's warmth and Bruce's wit and wisdom were quite something. Our love and condolences to all the family x xx

Bruce and Eileen were truly special people. He always seemed to know where the cousins were and how many kids they had. We enjoyed their trips to our farm where he liked to get on and drive a tractor for a day or two out in the field. And Eileen would always bring us a huge carrot cake --so good! Bev will be forever grateful for her time with Bruce in 2009 when they worked on Project El Salvador to raise the money to build a swinging bridge over a river in El Savador for kids to get to school safely. We send our condolences to their family. Thank you Bruce and Eileen for your time with us.

Many great memories of nights playing pool on that huge pool table with Bruce and Kirby. Always felt so welcome there and Eileen made the best Harvey wallbanger I've ever had. Take care all of you and hold your memories close.

Bruce and Eileen were always so welcoming when you dropped into the farm. I truly loved their house, the dining room with the white carpet and the old Crystal City United Church stained glass window. It was truly gorgeous Bruce loved music and could entertain for hours. Eileen was a member of the Crystal City Crazy Cats Crown Jewel group until her health started to fair. She loved to dress in our colours and attend our outings. Bruce was a member of the Crystal City Lions Club for numerous years, even paying his membership after he moved. He would tell me he wanted to die a Lion. He received our club minutes via email and always until the last few months was the first to reply "Received" and nice to keep up with the club. Bruce and Eileen will be truly missed, may they RIP together.

Our sincere condolences to Bruce and Eileen's family. They will be missed and remembered with much love and respect. We always looked forward to Eileen's carrot cake at our Howard family reunions. Bruce could carve a turkey like no one I have known. Distance and ill health have meant not so many in person visits recently but phone conversations were often and filled with meaningful memories. Thinking of you all.

Two of the most wonderful and loving people one could ever hope to know - you will both be dearly missed! Your kindness, open hearts and generosity knew no bounds, surpassed only by your love for each other, right until your final days. A true love story, indeed ❤️.

Thank you for being part of my life. I will always have fond memories of visiting the farm in my younger years and roaming that huge garden that was a labor of love for Eileen. Although the distances between us lengthened over the years, we always seemed to just pick right up where we left off when we did manage to connect again. You were two truly amazing souls - R.I.P. Bruce & Eileen.

You will be carried on by my children with Sheldon, Everett (6years) and Jakob (6months) alon with the rest of your grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will tell them stories about you and the farm. Thank you for being apart of our lives despite the distance.

Our deepest sympathies to the family.

We will forever remember the times we shared with Bruce and Eileen: the abundant jokes and wonderful piano music played by Bruce and the entertaining stories and shared recipes from Eileen when they together filled a room with laughter and joy. The random acts of kindness and the genuine caring nature which they both exuded.

The amusing (and slightly scary-) time when Eileen called in a panic for us to come over in a hurry to keep Bruce from climbing one of the large trees in the yard armed with a chainsaw... a job for a much younger fellow!

They were both equally terrified, put off and amused by each other's actions, but all they did was joke about it.

Such love and devotion they showed each other! An inspiration!

They will be missed.

May they both rest in peace.
