ROSEALIND (ROZ) SILVIA CAMPBELL

(née YAWORSKI)

September 15, 1936 – January 6, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roz on January 6, 2024 at the age of 87.

She was predeceased by her son Bruce in 2005, husband Rod in 2007, as well as her sister Vivian, and brothers Gerald and Alvin, and sister-in-law Nadia.

Roz is survived by her daughters Allison (Mike) in Vancouver; Karen (Bob) in Winnipeg; grandchildren Eric (Mel) and great-granddaughter Sophie; and granddaughters Chloe, Ella, and their mother Christine.

She is also survived by her brother Ron and his wife Lucille; sister-in-law Madeleine; and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives.

Roz was born in Cranberry Portage to John and Mary Yaworski (Zanyk) and was the first of five children. She met Rodney while they were both attending school in Winnipeg and were married in 1955. They had three children – Allison, Karen, and Bruce.

The family lived in Winnipeg where Roz worked at a variety of places, including the Manitoba Sugar Company, Victoria Hospital, and University of Manitoba. She combined part-time work and socializing by selling Tupperware and was a representative for three different cosmetics companies, first Avon, then Beauty Counselor, and finally Mary Kay.

Roz loved to travel with Rod. Their honeymoon was a bus trip down the west coast to California, and their first European trip was to Spain. After Rod retired, they made road trips with her brother Al and sister-in-law Madeleine, and took holidays in Mexico with family and friends. She and Rod also golfed, curled, and introduced the family to a love of camping – especially in Spruce Woods Park where they enjoyed visiting with the extended Campbell clan.

Family get-togethers at holidays were a favorite event for Roz, and she shared her cooking and baking skills with her daughters (and their friends) and grandkids, who keep a few favorite family recipes going. Special memories were made while making (and eating) Grandma’s perogies with granddaughters Chloe and Ella.

Cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. Roz will be interred with her husband Rod and son Bruce.

Karen, Allison and  all of your family. What a beautiful tribute to your mom. I have a picture of your  parents  with us when they came for a visit to B.C. It seems like a lifetime ago! I treasured my phone calls to your Mom every week.  We always had happy hour over the phone. no matter the time difference. We always laughed because it was 5 o clock somewhere. She was a very special lady in my life but  know that she is in God's hands. Bless her heart xoxo

Dear Karen and Allison. And of course extended families. I remember Aunt Rozs  smile every time I saw her. She was a ray of sunshine walking in the door. You could tell how much your parents loved each other and their family.I and my family are so sorry for your loss. You just know that they are all dancing up a storm and having fun like they use to. The last time I saw aunt Roz was with Aunt Sharon,Crystal and granddaughter Evey. She was well and having fun that day with Evey. That's the way I'll  remember her. All our love and condolences , Cathy ,Crystal,Joel and family.

Dear Karen and Allison, Beautiful video. So very sorry for your loss. I loved my Auntie Roz who was always a ray of sunshine in my life, a shoulder to lean on and always my first stop when I returned to Winnipeg for visits. I will always have fond memories of Sunday family dinners, Christmases in Winnipeg and on the farm and lots of laughter.  I will miss her deeply. Sending you hugs. Betty Lou (Campbell). ❤️

Dear Karen and Allison.  What an absolutely beautiful video tribute to your Mom.  Always a beautiful smile on her face.  In 1976 we moved onto Mount ALlison  and your mom and dad and you kids embraced us and were always there to lend a helping hand .  Barbecues, curling, block parties, trips to doctors, birth of Aaron..your mom and dad were always there to help or participate.  They were willing to take a couple of “youngsters “ on their curling team and teach us the ropes.  Rod and you children were her life! She loved you so much.   We always enjoyed staying in touch with the family over the last 45 years. As my mom passed just a few months ago I well know the ups and downs that you will face in the next while…especially the “firsts”. Remember her smile, and the memories you made with her. Also remember that as she had no many health issues over the years that she is now out of pain.   A life that loved and was well lived.  Our sincerest sympathies to all of the family.  Sending loads of love.

Karen,  Allison and family sending  Love and hugs to you all.  The tribute was wonderful. I will fondly remember all our  good times together  spending time in younger days with your family at home always fun! Then once we were older taking our Moms on Outings together.❤ We had a lot of laughs. Especially at the musical  Hamilton.   I will miss those times but will always have memories to reflect on.   Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Memories will live on forever.

Karen and Allison Please accept my sincere condolences as you mourn the passing of your mom. Your mom and dad were always so welcoming of us Bonners to Campbell gatherings and made it clear how important family was to them. I remember them up on the dance floor at wedding socials in Cypress River tearing up the dance floor with giant smiles on their faces. Good people leave fond memories and I have those of your mom and dad.

Please accept our sincere condolences on your mom's passing. We lived across the street from Rod and Roz on Mount Allison Bay. They were wonderful neighbours...the first to welcome us and then took pity on us as we were a young couple in our first home.  They gave us a lot of helpful hints and we enjoyed the odd beer on the front step with them, Zak and Ron and Doris. RIP Roz and Rod.

Dear Allison, Karen and families: Please accept my sincere condolences as you mourn the passing of Roz. She and I were friends for many, many years. We often "shopped until we dropped." She was a shoulder to lean on when I spent time in St. Boniface Hospital and her facials and pedicure really brightened up my hospital stay. We also shared many good times as couples as Rod and Ernie were also good friends.  Sadly, we lost touch t the past ten+ years so I would appreciate it if one of you could 'phone me for a little chat. 204-523-8106. Love to all, Donna.
