CALVIN CARDINAL

November 15, 1957 – March 15, 2024

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Calvin Alan Cardinal age 66 on March 15, 2024 at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Calvin was predeceased by his parents, Jacquilin and Alan Cardinal. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Bonny; his sisters Cheryl (John) and Michelle (Gerry); daughters, Karen and Tanya; stepdaughter Dawn; grandchildren, Jersey, Charity, Kaylee, Cole, Jaydin, Dustin, Kobe, Dylan, Chase, and Dayton; and great-grandchildren, Lyric, Kastin, Kyra, Kalina, and Kyrie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Calvin was born in Winnipeg and started out being a window washer. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator and enjoyed being in his tractor cutting the road side ditches or moving snow.

He enjoyed getting together with his friends, either in the backyard for BBQs or meeting up at the local hotel. He loved his Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Winnipeg Jets. He was actually named after Winnipeg Blue Bomber Calvin Jones.

He enjoyed travelling to Vegas, Mexico, and Florida, where he got to see the Daytona 500, which he loved.

We’d like to thank the nurses, doctors, and aides at the St. Boniface ICU for their care and compassion during Calvin’s stay.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, pleased consider a donation to Diabetes Canada or Heart & Stroke.

Calvin’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

I remember clearly the first time we met you and George. We see these two city slickers, coming out to join us ice fishing, wearing city boots and leather jackets. Everyone was like ‘wth!’ Lol will always remember you ‘Alan Jackson’ rest easy dear friend 🙏🏼❤️
