GERALD “GERRY” CARMAN
December 28, 1943 – March 24, 2025
With sadness, we announce the passing of Gerald “Gerry” Carman. Gerry was born December 28th, 1943 and passed on March 24th, 2025 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by parents Nettie and Stanley Sr.; and brother Stanley Jr.
He is lovingly remembered by sister Pat (Clyde); sister-in-law Rose (Larry); niece Marni (Graham); and their children, Laura, Matthew, and Tammy (Jason).
Gerry was born in Ottawa but grew up in Winnipeg. He worked for the Federal Govt and Canada Post.
He had a great love of photography and was always taking pictures of events around Winnipeg especially one of his favourites, "Folklarama". He had an ear for music and enjoyed playing his guitars and electric organ.
Gerry was a big fan of our Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets. We know he'll be cheering for those "Jets" in the playoffs.
Many thanks to Rose, Marni, Tammy and their families for all their help during this time. They are definitely the most caring "Angels".
Cremation has taken place. There will be no service. A private celebration will be held with the family.
Gerry’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

As a neighbor to Gerry for several years, we'd talk over the fence like 'Wilson" or partake in all the activities on Grassington Bay of which there were many.. His Halloween decorations and antics were legendary.... we knew when the kids were coming.
We would see Gerry all over the city at various festivals and music events with his camera in tow. He had a real talent for capturing the moment as evidenced by his many photo albums.. Condolences to Gerry's family.. He was a kind and gentle soul.
Rest in peace Gerry, it was a pleasure to know you

Gerry was my photo shoot buddy. We used to pack up both of our cars with props and head out to a location to take photos. Lots of the photos in Gerry's video were taken by me when we were out on one of our shoots (St Andrew's, Assiniboine Park, St Vital park). I will miss Gerry's sense of humor and our photo sessions out together. Gerry was a true artist at his craft. He loved sharing his interpretation of a moment he captured in time with all. Rest in peace my friend.

Very sad to read of Gerry's passing. I remember Sundays I. The winter time he would pick me up and off we would go cross country skiing. Great memories.
