Christie Carriere

CHRISTIE JENNIFER AUBRY
(NÉE CARRIERE)
MAY 17, 1972 – FEBRUARY 2, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce that our most deeply loved Christie passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 53.
Christie is survived by her Husband Jarret; Mother Cathy; Sons, Justin (Ashlyn), & Travis; brother Barry (Waylon); Sister-in-law Bev (Ian) (Zachary, Hannah); extended family and many dear friends. Christie was predeceased by her father Barry; as well as her Grandparents, Ken and Audrey; and her Uncle Craig.
Christie was born in Winnipeg and lived her entire life in Transcona. In her early years she began school at Westview Elementary where she set in motion her lifelong gift of making friends. She continued to John Gunn Middle School and completed high school at Murdoch MacKay Collegiate.
Christie grew up in a time that now feels almost magical — when children walked to school hand in hand, spent long afternoons playing outside, and rode their bikes freely through the neighborhood. Those simple joys shaped her early years and stayed with her throughout her life.
The arrival of her baby brother, Barry, was one of the brightest moments of her childhood. Christie adored him from the start, proudly pushing his stroller and introducing him to her friends as though he were the most precious gift she’d ever been given.
Her childhood was also filled with family camping trips, gatherings, and celebrations — moments that nurtured her deep love of family, connection, and togetherness.
Christie was a woman with an incredible work ethic; this was apparent from her very early teen years when she began her first jobs at Woolco and a local dental office. Throughout her working years Christie worked several jobs from operating a cleaning business, to working in a childcare center, providing childcare in her home, and finally her job working as an Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier for Canada Post.
To Christie, motherhood was not just a role it was her calling. Justin and Travis were the lights of her life, and she poured every part of herself into raising them with compassion, strength, and joy. She loved them with a depth that could be felt in every story she told, every worry she carried, and every smile that crossed her face when she spoke their names. Her sons were her greatest legacy, and she leaves them wrapped in a love that will outlast a lifetime.
Christie also found immense pleasure spending time with her mom in their cabin. She had a deep love of animals and nature, which she got to truly enjoy while visiting with friends and feeding her birds at Miami Beach.
Christie was a truly beautiful woman, both inside and out. She had a soft and deeply caring heart. She was always a caregiver, willing to step in and take care of anyone who needed help or a listening ear! Christie had an immense passion for art, and she loved gifting her handmade treasures including paintings, mandalas, clay work and many more creations. She was a selfless woman with the most beautiful and engaging smile. Sometimes that smile was the result of the dark humor that kept her going. Christie radiated kindness, she treated everyone with such warmth, she brought happiness and joy to everyone’s life that she touched. Christie had a gift for gathering people, making them feel like family, and creating warmth around her.
In the summer of 2020, Christie met Jarret who quickly became the love of her life; they became Husband and Wife on January 13, 2024. With Jarret, she found a love that felt like home. He brought her a sense of peace, safety, and delight that she had long hoped for but never expected. Their marriage was a celebration of two hearts that fit effortlessly together. Christie adored him, not quietly, but openly, joyfully, and with her whole being. In their time together, Jarret gave her a life filled with adventure, tenderness, and the kind of companionship that made her feel truly seen.
Christie lived her life to the fullest, and she loved her family and friends with a depth that will remain in their hearts for all time. She showed us the kind of love that only comes from a life lived in true connection, a love that lifted others, held them steady, and made them feel truly understood.

I was so sorry to hear of her passing. Even though it’s been years since school and family gatherings, I’ll always remember her kindness and the light she brought into a room. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time. Love and hugs.
