KYLE GEORGE CARRIERE

June 19, 1985 - January 31, 2022,

It is with sadness that we share the news that on January 31, 2022, Kyle passed away after losing his battle with addiction.

Kyle was born at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Dawn and George Carriere on June 19, 1985.

From a very young age he showed a proficiency for sports and loved nothing more than the game of Hockey. He loved playing in his youth and carried that love of the sport into adulthood.

Kyle was an avid fisherman and taught many family members how to fish. He proudly caught his first fish at Twin Lakes Beaches: a silver bass. Over the years Kyle would spend hours river fishing on the shore. He loved teaching people how to fish and would patiently spend hours putting anyone’s minnows on who needed help and detangling fishing lines over and over. An annoyingly repetitive task when fishing on the river, but Kyle always said it was a small price to pay to get to sit by the water on a beautiful day with friends and family.

Kyle was made for the outdoors. You could find him riding around the city on his bicycle, doing yard work or camping. Many will have will have fond memories of spending time in nature with Kyle at Twin Lakes Beaches and Otter Falls.

Kyle loved to cook and feed the ones he loved. His children were the light of his life. Some of his most cherished pastimes with his children were teaching them how to ride a bike, camping, playing at the park, swimming, and cooking. Kyle was an amazing cook.

Kyle is predeceased by his father George, partner Jennifer, grandparents Wilf Sr. and Noella Ellis. He is survived and remembered by his Mother, Dawn (Mike); his children Blake and Hayden; his step-son Conner; his sisters Colette (Trevor) and Danielle (Roy); Grandmother Sandra; nieces and nephews: Kaylin (Brenden), Jesse, Julia, Bella and many Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.

A private cremation and celebration of life will be held. Kyle’s family would like to thank the staff at Bruce Oake Recovery Centre.; and a special thank you to Dr. Michael Stephensen, Dr. Johann Raubeinheimer, and Meghan Kostrowski for their care and support. Additionally a special thank you to
the fire paramedics for their kindness and compassion during a difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Bruce Oak Recovery Centre in Kyle’s memory.

A special message for Kyle:

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only I could have you back to talk for a little while like we used to...you meant so very much to me and still will. The fact that you are no longer here will always cause me pain but you will forever be in my heart “my Son, my only Son” until we meet again.

Love Mom...Mom....Mom....Mommy!!

I didn’t know Kyle or his family, I just happened to read his obituary. My heart is very heavy after reading it, and I do wish he’d gotten help from Narcotics Anonymous. The program has a very high success rate and millions are helped each year. I am devastated for the family and pray they find the strength to heal. God bless you all.

I . . . I'm speechless. I considered him as my own brother. I. . . I . . words can't explain. My heart goes out to Dawn and EVERY single soul for this horribly terrible loss that we all have endured!!! I . . . No words will heal the pain. We were all blessed to have him in our lives. Never forgot!!! Never replaced!!!

I’m so sorry for your great loss. May Kyle’s death serve as motivation for other addicts to seek help. Addiction is serious and deadly. May he be at peace.
