I first met Kaval when I was posted into The RCMP Federal Policing and Immigration Section. First impression was wow, Kaval is a sharp guy. Very well dressed, and a true professional in all respects. He was very keen to serve others and had a great deal of compassion towards immigrants attempting to start their new lives in Canada. He was instrumental in assisting the RCMP in any way possible to improve the processes required dealing with somewhat complex issues. As time past, I was transferred into the VIP/EDU Section. Kaval and I had become good friends and with our spouses  enjoyed social time and meals together. Kaval was sadden that we would not be working together, so I suggested it was time for him to have a change. Arrangements were made to have him transferred into the VIP/EDU Section where he was of great assistance helping the unit preparing for VIP Security events. On two separate occasions Kaval was personally introduced to the Governor General of Canada and Prime Minister. He enjoyed serving in this very unique unit of the RCMP and his services were much appreciated.  Pastor Rick Warren once said, The only way you can serve God is by serving other people. Author Walter Reuther stated. There is no greater calling than to serve your fellow Men. There is no greater contribution than to help the weak. There is no greater satisfaction than to have done it well. Kaval has served his fellow Men. He has made many contributions to the weak. And yes he has done it well. He has truly served God. Rest In Peace good friend.

We wish to express our condolences to Edna and family on the passing of Kaval.  Kaval and I served for many years as volunteer board members, and a term as President,  on the Board of the Citizenship Council of Manitoba,,  International Centre,  welcoming and assisting new immigrants in resettlement in Manitoba.   He carried out this role with professionalism and dignity, as was his typical manner..  We got to see a lighter side of Kaval, when he and Edna joined us  - St. Clair and myself,  for a holiday in Barbados,  where he relaxed and enjoyed the beauty of the Caribbean,  and walked the beach with Edna -   still impeccably attired. He will be missed by his family and friends, including those he met in Barbados.  Our thoughts are with you, Edna, going through the last years to the end.

Dear Edna, When Kaval came to teach my grade six class at Inkster School, we enjoyed a dashin, debonair, exotic teacher who shepherded us through a transition to adulthood.  The song 'To Sir With Love' comes to mind when I think of the tremendous gift he graced upon us.  "How do you thank someone who took you from crayons to perfume?'   Mr. Chohan, later became Kavel, and he continued to help me along in my teaching career, as my principal and aa a reference for me.  I was blessed to know him as a teacher, a principal and a very dear soul with a marvelous wife and family.  I'll not see his ilk again and so I leave off, To sir with love is writ in giant letters in my heart..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8-M_wg8AI4  Sheri Oberman

Dear Edna Auntie, Vijay, Sahara, Meera, Melina, Vikas & Vishal: We are thinking of you and wishing you peace, love & togetherness at this precious time.  Our parents share many, many fond memories of their early days in Winnipeg, together. Later on when I became a teacher, Uncle became a mentor to me, sharing anecdotes that were encouraging and uplifting. I will remember Kaval Uncle's sweet and charming personality, his generosity & kindness. Most of all I will remember the deep love he had for his children and Uncle's remarkable love for Auntie. As a couple, they set the benchmark very high. Kaval uncle will be remembered fondly and missed terribly.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of Uncle. He was like a father to me, a truly great man. I have very fond memories of  your trips to the UK. Dad and Uncle used to tell us some wonderful stories of when they first came to the UK. They would stay up late and reminisce over a bottle of scotch. Uncle and Auntie Edna have always been there for me, especially when I was going through a tough time in my life. This is such a beautiful tribute to him, I’ve watched it over and over even though it makes me sad. I will miss him dearly 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Love  Seb, Baljit, Kaedan & Tiana

Edna and family. Our condolences on your loss of Kaval. Kaval worked with me as an Auxiliary Constable in the Immigration Section of the RCMP for several years. I can say he was the utmost gentleman who had a real and genuine interest in the lives of new immigrants to Canada and was always willing to assist us in whatever tasks we asked of him. I can still recall many of the "coffee chats" we had where we discussed any number of things and Kaval's stories were always of interest. My wife Bonnie and I had several occasions to socialize away from work and it was always a wonderful evening spent with the Chohans.               Frank & Bonnie Vande Graaf

Dear Edna, My condolences to the family. My grade 6 teacher at Inkster back in the 60s and someone I had the utmost respect for. His fashion sense, great taste in car colors, his calm nature and his gentle smile, a true gentleman. He will always be Mr. Chohan to me. I will miss but never forget this fine person.
