GAIL RUTH CONNER

(née WILLIAMS)

March 6, 1947 - July 10, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Gail Conner announce her passing on July 10, 2022.

Gail was born on March 6, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was the oldest of 8 siblings. Gail made a life by making people smile with her kind heart and her drive. As an adult, Gail moved from Winnipeg in the early 1970’s to Lynn Lake, Manitoba. There she worked at a local clothing shop called Cummings with her aunt Elsie and later at the Lynn Lake Hospital. There she met and married Herb Conner and started a family. While in Lynn Lake she was an avid curler and bowler and loved the outdoors.

In the early 1990s, Gail separated from Herb and moved to Thompson, Manitoba with her young family.  She met many friends along the way and served as a proud member of the Army and Navy Ladies Auxiliary for many years while in Thompson.  Gail moved back to Winnipeg in 2012 and lived in a care home until she passed. She spent her time doing things she loved especially crocheting, Avon hustling and taking care of her many indoor plants.

Gail was predeceased by her mom and dad, as well as two of her brothers. Gail will be sadly missed by her daughter Sandra Conner of Winnipeg; son Daniel Conner of Thompson, and the rest of family. Gail was very proud of her grand babies and loved them dearly—Jordan, Kaleigh, Tyler, Brody, Riley and Zachary. She also had one great grandchild, Caspian and another great grand baby girl on the way in September.  Gail’s memory will live on forever in our hearts.

Big thank you to Concordia place Residents and staff for treating her like family and taking such good care of our mom. much appreciated, God bless.

At this time there will be no services held.

My condolences Sandra and Daniel.  I am very sorry for your loss.  Gail was a great lady and I and Granda had great times in Lynn Lake.  She will be sadly missed 😢

What an absolute terrible day it is to find the mother of my long time best friend leaving this earth. It world truly will be a sadder place  without the kind smile and overall warmth of Gail. She may now rest in a place where the pain will no longer be, and embrace the love of the family waiting for her with open arms. With great sadness we wish you a peaceful journey.  Sincerely: Mark giddy
