JUSTIN CONROY

Also known as Jkon, Uncle Justin, Jus, Connie, and more. 

With extremely heavy hearts and sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our Justin. You were born in Winnipeg on August 11, 1987. You were 32 years old. The middle child of us three kids. You will be remembered and honoured by your dad John, your mom Carmen (Leslie), your sisters, Jenn and Erica, your nieces and nephews, Colton, Callie, Declan, Everleigh, and Hayden, plus all of your extended family and friends. 

We have so many memories of you. Building go-karts with dad, showing us tricks on your skateboard, watching you draw, etc. There wasn’t something you couldn’t do. 

I remember one time, we thought it would be so funny to tie our sister, Erica, to a bus stop. We did, and laughed and laughed when the bus stopped thinking she was going to get on.

You loved being an uncle. On Christmas, all the kids were so excited to see you. You brought them all scratch tickets and movie gift cards. You took your oldest nephew, Declan, for sleepovers. Declan loved this time with you. You spoiled him with candy and let him watch scary movies all night. You offered to pay for your niece, Callie’s, extracurricular activities, and offered to buy all of them a trampoline to share.

Friends were important to you too. I am so amazed how you were still close friends with your school buddies, Justin, Colin, Matt, are just to name a few. You boys are brothers now, please don’t ever forget that. Justin loved you boys. You guys shared a special bond, you all would help each other out whenever needed.

You had such a drive for life. If you thought about something, you made sure you accomplished it. You were a mechanic for many years, completed your automotive apprenticeship level 1 and 2, completed a vessel entry technician program and worked in Alberta for a while, completed CNC operator training, volunteered at Winnipeg Harvest, and spent countless hours cooking at Boston Pizza. You enjoyed DJing and mixing up beats. You loved your dogs and were an amazing dog trainer. You recently purchased your first house. In the 6 months you owned it, you had already renovated the kitchen, put new doors and windows on it, and finished the basement. You made a home gym and were “slaying” your goals. We used to text each other about working out. You’d always tell me I was doing it “wrong”, so one time we went to the gym together so you could show me the “right way”, or I should say the “Justin way”. 

You helped people struggling with addiction. You helped many family members and friends. Recently, you asked me to call someone who needed another “mom” to talk to because she was struggling. You had such a huge heart. 

While losing you has shattered me and our family, I promise I will stay strong for you. I know you would have wanted that. 

Rest easy, Justin.
