In Loving Memory of
DENISE CANDACE MAUREEN COSS

(nƩe Bambrick)

November 2, 1955 - July 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to the strongest, most vibrant force in our lives. Denise was more than just a mother, sister, and friend; she was a champion, a source of unwavering support, and a constant reminder of the strength of love.

Her passion for life was infectious. She embraced every challenge with grace and humour, her determination and sassy spirit making her unstoppable. Raising three stubborn, strong-willed children (who, no doubt, took after her), she navigated the chaos of life with a steady confidence that we could always find our way. No matter how difficult the path, we knew we had her love and belief in us, every step of the way.

Denise had a style all her own—a flair that never went unnoticed. Whether it was her ability to rock any colour (though purple was her latest favourite), or the way she carried herself with poise, she was always the center of attention, in the best way possible. And if you were ever in the middle of a game, be it cards or Monopoly, you’d know that Denise was not one to back down. She never lost a round.

Her interests were as colourful as her wardrobe, from flower arranging to dancing to cross-stitching—she followed her passions wherever they took her, bringing joy to all she touched. But it was her Christmas baking that truly brought the season to life. The smell of her homemade treats filled the air, and her stuffing—well, that was simply unforgettable. Each ornament on the Christmas tree was a story, a memory that we will forever hold close.

She was stubborn, a perfectionist in her own right, yet somehow managed to be both freakishly clean and wonderfully cluttered at the same time. There was always a method to the madness, even if no one else could see it.

Her travels took her across the country—from the beauty of British Columbia to the charm of Prince Edward Island—always seeking new memories. She visited the place where she and her father were born, and she marvelled at the splendour of Butchart Gardens. Every journey was another opportunity to make lasting memories with the people she loved.

Denise’s love, warmth, and spirit will live on through her children: Naomi McKay (Shawn McKay), Michael Schinborn (Miah and Nolan Schinborn), and Ashley Schinborn. She is also deeply remembered by her siblings: Francis (deceased), Kevin, Carrie, and Conrad; and her spouses: Lawrence Schinborn, Dominique Richot, and Tess Coss.

No matter where life takes us, Denise will always remain in our hearts, forever cherished, forever loved. She was, and always will be, Mommy.

"The connections we make

in the course of a life -

maybe that's what heaven is."

Denise’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

I remember visiting Winnipeg to visit my brother and Denise. I was only a teenager , but she always welcomed us in to her home and made sure we enjoyed our time from going on water slides , to a trip to the beach , to going out for breakfast.

They also came home for my highschool graduation and gifted me with a beautiful engraved bracelet that I still have.

Thankyou Denise for being a part of my growing up memories.

Miss you mom. I pray for your soul each and everyday. Lord forgive us all that we might be together again, God willing.
