Marjorie Coston
MARJORIE COSTON
September 10, 1949 – January 19, 2024
With heavy hearts, the family of Marjorie Coston (nee Moore) wish to announce her passing on January 19, 2024 at the age of 74, after a brief illness.
Marge was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Martha Moore, and sister Donna Landon. She is survived by her children, son Glen and daughters Lea and Kaitlynne. Marge is also survived by her brothers, Wes (Sherry) and Jack (Sharon), and many friends who were just like family to her.
Many years ago, and despite a bit of apprehension, Marge took a chance and registered for a basic computer course at the local library. That decision led to a 24-year career with Winnipeg School Division as an office and library clerk. Her first long term placement was at Isaac Brock School, and her second was at Robertson School. She made many wonderful friends at both of these locations, and many of those friendships endured well after her retirement from WSD in 2014.
In the early 2000’s Marge decided to become a Foster Parent. During the 20 years she was licensed as a Foster Parent, she provided a safe home for children who needed one. Marge also had a lifelong love of animals, with many beloved family pets having provided her with companionship through the years. When she wanted to relax, Marge worked in her beautiful garden, watched a bit of T.V. and may have played some bingo here and there. No matter what she was busy doing, she always had time for a friend or someone in need.
A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy Road (Unitarian Church).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Bruce Oake Recovery Centre, or any other preferred charity.

Marg had a genuine love and interest in people. It was always a pleasure to visit with her when she'd come to Cloud 9 Ranch. She often brought along treats for our dogs, cats and horses. She had a large heart! Family will have been blessed by her! My condolence.

I worked with your mom at Robertson School. She is one who everyone would go to the library to chat with. She is so kind and pleasant. Heaven received yet another angel. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

My heartfelt sympathy to Marjorie’s family. Marjorie and I started our friendship in grade seven. We stayed friends and our association with the school board, kindled many memories. Marjorie was a special friend in my life. Her kindness, her infectious laugh and her friendship will always be in my thoughts. Blessings to her family and through tears and laughter let there be warm memories.
