KERRY LYNN CRAIG

née Macpherson

October 5, 1965 - December 22, 2019

It is with heavy hearts, we announce that Kerry passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on the morning of December 22, at the age of 54 years.

She will be remembered by her husband Doug; daughter Alexandra; son Max; sister Sandy; brothers Ernie and Michael; nephew Mike; niece Tara, and so many others. She was predeceased by her mother Verna May (Redden) Macpherson, and father Ira Neil Macpherson.

Kerry’s life goal was to be a wife and mother. Her family meant more to her than works can say. She was far more interested in experiences than possessions. She radiated love and compassion and was of selfless and generous spirit.

Kerry’s early years were spent in Lindsay Lake, NS. When she was nine, she moved to Middle Musquodoboit, NS, where she finished her schooling. She then graduated from Mt. St. Vincent University, Halifax with a legal secretary certificate.

Kerry worked in Halifax, where she met Doug, her life partner, in 1988, when they were both only 22 years old. They were married in Winnipeg in 1993. Kerry and Doug lived in Edmonton for three years before returning to Winnipeg in 1997, where they welcomed the arrival of their daughter. In 2003 they spent a year in Germany, before returning home just in time for the arrival of their son.

Kerry was a dedicated member of Harrow United Church and an enthusiastic member of the Winnipeg Steel Orchestra. Her unique silliness and constant quoting of Bugs Bunny always brought a smile to the faces of everyone who interacted with her.

One of Kerry’s favorite pastimes at home was to both read to, and be read to by her children and husband. She always enjoyed bedtime stories and loved sharing them, and laughing with her family.

Friends and relatives are encouraged share memories, stories, and/or condolences for the family by using the comment section on this page.

A celebration of Kerry’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Avenue, Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or World Vision.

So sorry to hear of Kerry's passing.  Beautiful tribute to someone I met through her sister, and my very best friend Sandy.  May she rest in peace, and thoughts and prayers are being sent to Doug, their children, and family.

When I think of Kerry I see a beautiful smile that lights up the room. Always encouraging, a willingness to help out, Kerry inspired others in her own unique way. Although we didn't see one another often, she always held a special my place in my heart. To Doug, Alexandra, Max, Sandy Ernie and Michael may you all draw comfort from all that she brought to your life and know that she is there in the beautiful sunset, the whisper of the breeze or in the melody of a songbird.  With deepest sympathy, Juli (Ruggles) Oxford
