JAMIE DAWN DAVIS

October 16, 1978 – August 5, 2024

Jamie Dawn Davis, beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, wife, and friend to many, passed away suddenly on August 5th, 2024 in her hometown of Portage. She was born on October 16th, 1978 to Cathy Neal and Ross McKellar, and brought immense love and joy into the lives of those around her.

Jamie's legacy is one of unwavering love she had for her family through her many struggles. Left behind to cherish her memory are her grieving mother Cathy Neal; her grieving father Ross Mckellar (Judy Mckellar); two siblings, Jerri and Casey; her cherished daughters, Keira and Jadyce; her devoted husband Sean Davis; stepson Caiden; as well as her best friend Carla Ward; and many of nieces and nephews who she loved wholeheartedly: Mack, Casin, Nevaeh, Caulder, and Chance. She was also an amazing grandma to her four grand babies, Hazen, Delilah, Emerlynn and Elijah, and will be mourned by so many more.

Jamie’s interests growing up were hairdressing, cleaning, cooking, singing, dancing and then when she found out she was pregnant with her oldest, Keira, her greatest passion became being a mother to her, and then Jadyce and Caiden in the later years. Jamie knew how to make anyone in a room smile or laugh with her very outgoing personality. When she found out she was gonna be a grandmother she was so overfilled with joy and excitement and made sure her grandbabies knew everyday how proud she was to be their grandma and how much she loved them. Jamie had her struggles like everyone else but she always made sure that the ones she loved knew and felt the love that she had for them.

A celebration of life will be held for Jamie at 1:00pm – 3:00pm on August 24, 2024 at the Island Park, Portage la Prairie (please bring lots of memories to share).

For now, all we ask is for love and support from the people in Jamie’s life at this time.

Please check back for a more elaborate obituary at a later date.

When I think of cousin Jamie I think of The Labrynth, water gun games chasing each other around her place on 5th, and stopping in to pick her up on the way to school. Whenever we crossed paths over the years she would just smile and grab me up in a hug. I'll miss her but she will always be part of my life and my memories.
