CHARLES ROBERT ALLAN DAY

August 13, 1941 - April 4, 2022

It is with sadness but gratitude, that we announce the passing of our Allan Day on April 4, 2022 at the Southeast Personal Care Home where he resided. Al will be welcomed into the Spirit world by his mother Isabel, father Bob and brother Jim; and many of his ancestors and friends.

Al was born in Kenora, ON and spent a great part of his early life in Sioux Narrows, ON. Surrounded by the beauty of the forest and the glistening waters of Regina Bay, Al lived a life that he always missed and talked about often. As a young boy, living in a small cottage built by our parents, he lived a life that many would envy. Pictures of him and our brother Jim showed they had a fawn as a pet and they were taught to hunt and fish by our parents. Al would often return to visit and bask in the quietness of living on the lake where he grew up.

In February 1983, Al was taken to his first Alcoholics Anonymous at the First Step Group and he never had another drink; he later became a member of the St. Vital group. “Old Al” loved to attend the AA dances and he would dance the night away! Al loved to fix cars and spent many times at the local auto wreckers; pulling parts out and installing them.

For the past few years, Al had been residing at the Southeast Personal Care home where he liked to joke and entertain the other residents; it is there that he passed away.

The family want to thank the staff at Unit 5 at the Southeast Personal Care Home for their kindness, patience and comfort they provided to him in his last few years.

Al's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.
