THERESA GERTRUDA DAY

July 14,1945 - November 19, 2019

It is with deep Sadness that we announce the passing of an incredible woman. On November 19, mom passed with Vanessa and Brenda by her side at HSC. She well taken care of at the MICU. Thank you for everything you do.

She is predeceased by her parents Lydia and Joseph Verboeket and many Beautiful friends over the years.

Theresa will be sadly missed and lovely remembered by Vanessa, her granddaughter. Deeply missed by Brenda, her daughter. Left to cherish her memory are Al, Chris, and Tyler.

On July 14, 1945 Theresa was born in Roermond, Netherlands.

In 1963 Theresa, her parents and sister moved to Canada. Winnipeg was their choice. Its been her home since.

Theresa Loved to Travel. Went on casino bus trips every month. 3 trips to her granddaughter in Ontario. trip to Vegas, she loved to people watch and loved the shows. She loved drives. Every time I wanted to go for a ride, she was there.

She loved bingo. The balcony every year was full of plants and vegs. Enjoyed her Brandy. Thanks to the Elle Spa, she could wear flip flops 8 months a year to show off her colored toes.

Theresa worked at an early age. She went through a lot of different jobs. She was hired by Myrtle and Tom Karlicki at Chateau Lanes. Even though it went through different owners she stayed committed to the bowling industry for 35 years. You could always find her at the front desk. In that time, she volunteered for clubs, tournaments, secretary positions and whatever else she could help with.

She watched bowlers in kids’ leagues grow up and have families. She loved the people and always bumped into bowlers in her travels.

She made a lot of special bonds with the bowlers. Thanks to a lot of people she sure enjoyed being a part of their lives.

Thank you, Janette, Myrtle, Randy, Ron, Lorriane, Ken, and Doug. So many to thank.

We will Have a Celebration for Theresa on at 4:00 pm on Jan 19, 2020 at the St. Louis Centre on 445 Tissot street.

What a great lady, I have so many wonderful memories working with her at Chateau lanes. Working with her was a pleasure and having a drink after we were done was always good for some laughs . She always had so  many funny stories to tell. She was a very important person for all of the Manitoba opens and the National Classified tournaments, she was the glue that helped hold all those tournaments together. R.I.P. Teresa you will be missed by so many. Daryl D.
