HENRY COLIN DEMERIA

July 27, 1942- April 28, 2021

It is with great sadness that are finally able to share with you that Henry passed suddenly, on Wednesday April 28, 2021, after contracting Covid.

Henry was a dedicated and committed Pastor for 40 years.  Through his parish he leaves many people he considered his family, those he referred to as “brothers and sisters and even identified the younger members as his children.

Acknowledgements are extended to his niece, Suzy who he loved and cherished as one of his spiritual children. Henry loved to travel and went wherever he was called on to fellowship!

He had a very strong work ethic and worked for Motor Coach Industries for over 30 years.

Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marie (Alice) Demeria.  Marie passed on June 16, 2020.  She had multiple health issues that they dealt with in the time leading up to her passing.  Henry was very dedicated to ensuring that his wife felt supported and loved especially when she was in her weakest state.  He was very lonely after she passed and longed to be with her.  It was only 10 short months later that he followed.  This an example to all - that loves heals and is enduring.

Henry also predeceased four sisters Gertie, Marilyn, Alma and Louise.

Henry and Marie have left 5 children, Noreen, Heather, Cindy, Jerilyn and Mark.  Henry and Marie also raised one of their grandchildren, Travis Demeria-Thorassie. Special acknowledgements must be given to Travis at this time because he looked after his grandparents when they both needed care and kindness.  He holds a special place with us all.

Henry and Marie had 13 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Noreen’s daughter-Daanis;

Heather’s children-Sequoia – Jonothan;

Cindy’s children -Travis, (our heavenly, Chanelle), Christopher, Arynn and Evangeline;

Jerilyn’s children, Nathaniel, Avery Marie and Tyler Henry;

Mark’s children – Laylah and Caleb; and

One great grandchild from Sequoia – Cameron!

And a very loved Feline- Makatay

It was important to both Henry and Alice to spend time with family especially their grandchildren.  Henry spent much of the last ten months with his children and grandchildren loving and being loved!

Due to the Covid restrictions in place in Manitoba we are still waiting to set a date for a Celebration of Life for Henry.  This will be announced in the coming days.
