Janis Dewar

JANIS FRANCIS MARY DEWAR
August 8, 1953 - January 12, 2026
Peacefully, with family by her side, Janis Francis Mary Dewar, (née Berriault), passed Monday morning, January 12, 2026.
After a courageous battle, Janis was unable to overcome the illness she faced. During this time Janis tried to keep those around her in good spirits, always conversing and joking with the nurses entrusted with her care, for whom we are forever grateful.
Janis will be forever missed by her husband Dave; her children, Daniel, (Leanne), Trisha, (Brett); her sister Pat Clark (Jack); her brother Chris, (Jay); her five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her brother-in-law Ray.
Janis loved to work in her garden, enjoy time with her grandchildren and was especially fond of her trips to Prince Edward Island. The family spent the last three years summering in PEI, forever a special place in Janis’ heart.
Janis was predeceased by her two daughters, Sharon and Krystin; her dad and mom, Adrien and Nora; and her brother Randy.
Cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will be held in the spring at St. Vital cemetery where Janis will be laid to rest with her two daughters Sharon and Krystin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
Ethical Death Care has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

So sorry to hear about Janis. My sympathy to the family. I babysat Daniel when he was a baby and Janis was pregnant with Krystin. Would have been nice to see her again.

So sorry for your loss. Janis and I went to school at Glenlawn . We became friends with a group of girls and hung out for years. We had great times!
