GERALD “GERRY” DORGE
May 22, 1944 – January 13, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald “Gerry” Dorge on January 13, 2025, at the age of 80.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Raymonde; children, Stéphane (Aileen) and Lisa (Larry); grandchildren, Alix (Mercedes), Samuel, Caleb, and Sonia; siblings, Claudette, Claire (Emile), and Robert.
Raised in Ste. Agathe, Gerry developed his love of the country working on the farm. After moving to Winnipeg, he met the love of his life, Raymonde, who never left his side, through joys, transitions in business and illness.
Gerry was an entrepreneur in the true sense of the word, involved in many businesses including Country Kitchen restaurants and Canadian Publishers. Gerry’s greatest sense of pride was for the long-lasting business and personal relationships he built over the years.
His love of people was matched by his love of nature, marrying both at Light of the Prairies. There, Gerry was in his happy place, riding the tractor, carefully reading every article of the weekend newspapers. We will miss his spirit, the stories about family and friends and his love for us all.
Special thanks to the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their unwavering kindness and compassion during Gerry’s final days.
Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. February 1, 2025 at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens hall, 289 Dussault Ave.
Gerry’s family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

I have a lot to be thankful to Gerry for. First of all there's our frienship which spanned over 60 years and a common love of antique machinery like '53 Chevys. Also, we shared a love for all things Mexico and California and spend many winters there timesharing and together enjoying the sun and the shrimp. But mainly, I'll always be greatful for him having introduced me to his cousin, my late wife of 55 years, Lulu. What a Godsend she was to me; I can't thank him enough.
May he rest in peace!
I am terribly sorry that I will be away and will miss the festivities on February 1st.
