I worked at Joan's Boutique for 2 1/2 years....a fabulous experience...I liearned a lifetime of buying;, merchandising, and selling from the greatest mentor ever, Joan. She was an exceptional person and I will always be grateful that I had the experience of working for her; and carried her great lessons into the rest of my life.. Joan was one of a kind. She set her sights high with standards for others to emulate and never never complained. She was remarkable! My love to her family and friends.

I worked at The Bay Polo Park when Joan worked at Chanel. She amazed me with her style and her ability to wear boots with heels which I gave up wearing in my 50's! She excelled in customer service and was always bringing customers to us in Jewellery. In the lunch room she could be found studying her lines to audition for an acting part. So friendly and beautiful! Rest in peace, Joan!

Was very sorry to learn of Joan's passing. She was one incredible lady. Classy and friendly and always looked amazing. My sincerest condolences to all the family. I know you will all have wonderful memories to cherish.

Sincerest condolences to all of her loved ones. I had the honor of knowing (since 1986) and working for Joan. She was an amazing person and she taught me a lot. We had a lot of connections in the fashion industry as I sold to her when she still had Joan's in Wpg. and afterwards I worked for her in VCR. when she was out of town buying and then part time at her store Karen and Joan's. Our other connection was the CFL, she had been married to a Bomber that played against my Eskie father (Jackie Parker) and she attended a Spirit party with me when the Grey Cup was in town; lotsa fun that night among others. She will be missed and thought of often and I'm so sad my old pal is gone. Best regards to all.

I am very sad to know of Joan's passing. I had the incredible opportunity to partner with Joan at karen and Joan's for 6 yrs . During that time I learned from the best! Retail was in her blood. She was so fashion forward at the time with amazing taste for "pieces "as she referred to . Above all she loved her children and grandchildren and got so much joy from them. Joan was a wonderful person who always saw me for who I am and made an enormous difference to many . I will never forget her welcoming Yoichi and me to Los Angeles where she took us on a tour of the fashion district and ended up at The Getty......Years later , she forwarded my number to her grandson George. I was happy to try and repay her many years of kindess by taking George and his friend for Katsu ! My sincere condolences to the greater Druxman family . I first met Joan through my friend Karen Simkin when they went into business together opening "Karen and Joan's" on Burrard in Vancouver in the early 90s.

Joan's sense of style and her remarkable eye for fashion was truly amazing. She carried only unique, one of a kind pieces not seen elsewhere.

As an infrequent "employee " in the boutique I marveled at Joan's unflappable nature when dealing with clients, even the most difficult ones.

She was a pleasure to know and work along side. Her work ethic was very admirable. She joked about the long hours as a business owner saying "I go on and off with the lights ".

Joan was truly one of a kind.

Joan was a remarkable and unique individual. I first met her in her late 50's. During that time, in 1989, I purchased a spectacular jacket from her, which I have recently resurrected. It is now an amazing vintage piece. Then, in the early 2000's, I was lucky to spend time with her, working on the design of a store for Hilary in Santa Monica. Joan would take me browsing in the stores on Montana Avenue, where she warned me away from "menopausal" pink or blue. To this day, I remember exactly what shades they were.

What a magnificent legacy Joan has left! Such a influence both in fashion and how to live life to the fullest! Working for her at the Bay as a young woman or having her choose my Chanel lip color she never changed. Such style!

Joan is unforgettable. I too was impacted by Joan for decades, starting as a model for her and later buying the latest fashions from wherever she set up shop.

Her distinctive cadence and speech pattern was mesmerizing and certainly helped the sales pitch.

May the memories of her fill the void she has left us. I offer my condolences to her family.

Joan was an extraordinary person. She had wonderful heart, and she was incredibe with her sense of fashion and the arts. I had the pleasure of working with her at The Bay. We shared many conversations and laughs. She had a beautiful vivid personality. She will be greatly missed.

Joan was a mentor and my boss while I was a student of fashion at the University, I worked for her in her downtown boutique for 2 years and loved every minute of it.. As I became a designer myself, I met her at trade shows while she was buying accesssories and I always vistied her in her boutique in Winnipeg. She was a kind and generous woman and I respect her very much. I have fond memories of her, and she was truly one of a kind. Joan, may you rest in paradise in everlasting love. ❤️

Joan was my Idol. I met her while modeling in my teen years. The light she exuded and the friendship she offered in all the years since never diminished. No time on earth is long enough to share with those we love, nor to prepare our hearts for goodbye. Rest peacefully Joan.

I first met Joan when I was a student at Tec Voc's Theatre and Broadcasting Course.

For our final assignment in 1971, I produced and hosted a segment called Why Fadhion.

on the panel I chose as my guests Tribune Fashion Editor Joan Druxman,

Winnipeg Top Model Narda Price, Penny Lane owner Lise Colley and Manager of the Unicorn Boutique John..

we had a lively discussion and took a commemorative photo afterwards.

Over the years Joan and I connected and in the recent past shared lovely times with my partner Judith over lunch.

Joan Druxman was one of a kind, unique and will never be forgotten.

Joan was one of the most unique women of her day. my Mom adored her and my a dad admired her. And all of us had an enormous amount of respect and love for her. she was one of a kind. A true legend.
