Joan was a remarkable and unique individual. I first met her in her late 50's. During that time, in 1989, I purchased a spectacular jacket from her, which I have recently resurrected. It is now an amazing vintage piece. Then, in the early 2000's, I was lucky to spend time with her, working on the design of a store for Hilary in Santa Monica. Joan would take me browsing in the stores on Montana Avenue, where she warned me away from "menopausal" pink or blue. To this day, I remember exactly what shades they were.

What a magnificent legacy Joan has left! Such a influence both in fashion and how to live life to the fullest! Working for her at the Bay as a young woman or having her choose my Chanel lip color she never changed. Such style!

Joan is unforgettable. I too was impacted by Joan for decades, starting as a model for her and later buying the latest fashions from wherever she set up shop.

Her distinctive cadence and speech pattern was mesmerizing and certainly helped the sales pitch.

May the memories of her fill the void she has left us. I offer my condolences to her family.

Joan was an extraordinary person. She had wonderful heart, and she was incredibe with her sense of fashion and the arts. I had the pleasure of working with her at The Bay. We shared many conversations and laughs. She had a beautiful vivid personality. She will be greatly missed.

Joan was a mentor and my boss while I was a student of fashion at the University, I worked for her in her downtown boutique for 2 years and loved every minute of it.. As I became a designer myself, I met her at trade shows while she was buying accesssories and I always vistied her in her boutique in Winnipeg. She was a kind and generous woman and I respect her very much. I have fond memories of her, and she was truly one of a kind. Joan, may you rest in paradise in everlasting love. ❤️

Joan was my Idol. I met her while modeling in my teen years. The light she exuded and the friendship she offered in all the years since never diminished. No time on earth is long enough to share with those we love, nor to prepare our hearts for goodbye. Rest peacefully Joan.

I was very sad to learn of the passing of Joan.

I first met Joan when I was a student at Tec Voc's Theatre and Broadcasting Course.

For our final assignment in 1971, I produced and hosted a segment called Why Fadhion.

on the panel I chose as my guests Tribune Fashion Editor Joan Druxman,

Winnipeg Top Model Narda Price, Penny Lane owner Lise Colley and Manager of the Unicorn Boutique John..

we had a lively discussion and took a commemorative photo afterwards.

Over the years Joan and I connected and in the recent past shared lovely times with my partner Judith over lunch.

Joan Druxman was one of a kind, unique and will never be forgotten.

Joan was one of the most unique women of her day. my Mom adored her and my a dad admired her. And all of us had an enormous amount of respect and love for her. she was one of a kind. A true legend.
