TERRI LYN DUPONT

(née PRYSTUPA)

August 13, 1969 – August 23, 2022

With heavy hearts, we announce that Terri Dupont passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the age of 53 years.

She is survived by her children Austin Dupont (Lisa), Ayric Dupont, and Tiki Russell; her parents Eugene and Mavis Prystupa; her sisters Shelly Ross (Jon), and Trina Tully (Calvin); nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Austin & Tia Ross, Taylore Tully, Clayton and Callie Roy, and great-nephews Colton Roy and Milo Ross.  She was predeceased by her twin sister Traci Roy, only 22 months earlier.

Terri was born on August 13, 1969 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg Manitoba.  She grew up on her parent’s dairy farm in Woodlands, Manitoba.  It was there she found her love of horses.  Terri became pretty successful at youth barrel racing and attended many horse shows and competitions.  Terri also loved her baseball, where she played back catcher for many years.  She received many trophies and MVP awards, and successfully contributed to her team winning the provincials.

Terri studied to become a counsellor.  She worked at the women’s shelter and the Pelican School in Sioux Lookout, Ontario.  She also worked at the women’s jail and women’s shelter in Portage la Prairie Manitoba.  Terri quit her job to become a stay-at-home mom when Austin was born.  She was very artistic and held craft classes in her home for a few years.  Terri was always social butterfly who enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends.

What a shock!  I happened to come across Terri's obituary when I was searching for someone else's.  I am so saddened to hear of her passing.  I worked with Terri at PFSS (now Thrive) several years ago.  She was truly a beautiful person both inside and out, with such a huge heart.  She will be sorely missed.  My heart goes out to her boys, Tikki, and the entire family, as well as my prayers.  ❤

I first met Terri in 1989 when we were 20 years old and we quickly became friends. I give Terri full credit for introducing me to my husband, Kelly. I spent so many memorable times with Terri including having her stand up for me at our wedding (she was such a nervous bridesmaid!) and going to the States for weekends away. I will always remember Terri for her sense of humor; she was so much fun to be around and was always laughing. We shared an interest in crafting and spent many hours making stuff to sell in craft sales; she was very creative. Terri was a great cook and hosted many dinner parties for our friend group. I haven't seen Terri since Austin was small and Ayric was a newborn, but I have thought of her often over the years and Kelly and I are so saddened to hear that she has passed on. We hold those memories of our times together near and dear to our heart and still think of them often. Terri, you were a huge part of our lives and you will always be in our memories. RIP

That was such a great video of beautiful memories of Terri & the family. I have fond memories of being at the farm in the summers growing up & will cherish them all; from us girls helping Baba make perogies & cabbage rolls, to tending to her gardens, playing Kanasta & Crib, to watching soap operas with Baba in living room, & just all around fun with the cousins.  We had great times all together, got into a bit of fun trouble all together (lol) & even Baba teaching us how to crotchet together.  They were all great memories to last a lifetime of cousins who are near & far, but the memories will last a lifetime in our hearts.  Rest east & peaceful. Shine as bright as a warm summer sun. Fly high & free with Traci & all of those who’ve passed before us. You will be missed & remembered by all who’ve been luck enough to have known you Terri. ❤️❤️

That was an absolutely beautiful video, I can’t make a comment as I missed her growing up as I was in another province and didn’t get to see much of her. But I remember the beautiful eyes and how I would mix the twins up. God bless you Terri and I know you will be very blessed and happy to be with your sister again. You both were far to young to be taken from us. Love you Auntie Ann
