Peacefully, after a sudden cancer diagnosis, on Sunday, January 17, 2021, our much loved wife, mother, grandmother, and godmother Dianne went to be with the Lord.

Dianne will be lovingly missed by her husband, Andrew; daughters Janella Gowryluk (Rylea); and Christy Dyck (Mia); sister-in-law Josie Hunter; nephew David; niece Krysten; aunt Jessie; sister-in-law Jo-Anne Davis; nephews, Kristian (Teresa), and Andrew (Kerry); as well as numerous godchildren, many friends and Rylea’s three dogs. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret (Peggy) Hunter and her Brother Jack Hunter.

A private celebration of Dianne's life was held on Friday, February 5, 2021. Dianne’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. Please, also consider sharing your own photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

If our friends so desire, donations to Dianne’s Granddaughter Rylea’s Kidney Transplant Fund may be made in lieu of flowers.

The Family is very thankful to the Palliative Care staff at St Boniface Hospital who  were so kind and attentive to Dianne in her final days.  We could not have imagined better care. Also to the staff at Ethical Death Care, thank you for helping us through this trying time.

A great video presentation that captures the essence of the Proverbs 31 woman that Aunt Dianne was. There was never a more perfect lady for Uncle Andy, someone who loved him as much as he loved her. They opened their home and hearts for so many people. An ideal Christian couple who laughed, loved, enjoyed life as much as they could. Aunt Dianne for those that got to spend time with her found someone who no matter who you were she would listen, advise, laugh or even cry with you. If you needed an advocate she was one for you and if she felt you needed tough love she was more than willing to force you to confront the issue. No matter what you left time with her knowing she loved you and loved you to much to not call you on whatever you were trying to avoid.  I will never forget the times spent laughing in Kenora, or in hanging out in the basement or backyard in Winnipeg. I am immensely grateful knowing that although absent from us for now I will see her in heaven. It is very comforting to know that when she closed her eyes on January 17, 2021 she may have left us for a short time but she stepped directly into the presence of her Lord and saviour.  Truly a great woman of God and a life well lived.  Kris Davis

So sorry to hear of the sad news of Dianne's passing.  I will never forget the meal she made for me when my son was born pre mature in 2005.  I spent 3 weeks hanging around the NICU at the St Boniface Hospital during construction,  living and eating out of a bag.  A nurse kindly heated up my packaged meal of  salmon with wild rice...such a luxury at the time!  It was accompanied by her famous salad that our extended family calls the "Dianne Dyck salad".  There was even a huge decadent cupcake/muffin.  She made me feel seen, thought about and cared for during a difficult time.  I remember her always opening up her home for church events and made those of us not in the inner circle feel welcome.  She even allowed my family to host a bridal shower for me in her home.  She had a big heart and great empathy for others based on her own life experiences.  She will be missed by many.  My condolences to Andy, Rylea and the rest of the family.

Hello Andy and Janella.  And I guess this is why I had the inclination to write that note to Dianne a few months ago. ❤ I had no idea of her illness  until Jan told me yesterday that Dianne had passed. But obviously, we were still connected. I am sorry for your loss. And also that Dianne was not ill for a lengthy time. I hope you are both recovering from the trauma and loss and as well, Rylea, the dogs and the rest of the family. My deepest sympathy to all.

Dear Dianne,  I miss you. I think so often about you, and the wonderful friendship we have.  I cherish the memories of the girl time we had, the talks, and the amazing dinners.   You made everything so special, setting the table, the fresh flowers, candles, and of course, the famous salad dressing.  But the bbq grilling was Andy’s domain, which you proudly boasted about.   I hear your voice in my head, and know you are the Angel on my shoulder.  I know that you are with your loving Heavenly Father, and that comforts me.   Mila
