ARMANDE "MANDY" EGAN

June 1, 1926 - December 12, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Armande (Mandy) Egan on December 12, 2020.  Mandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many.

Mandy was predeceased by her husband Warren, daughter Kathy and daughter in-law Michele. She will be dearly missed by her children Mike (Jean), Sue (Kelly) and Pat, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mom was a caring, loving and kind person who loved spending time with family and friends.  Mandy opened her home to many extended family and friends to stay with our family when in need.  She cared for everyone as well as her own large family and made sure everyone was fed and cared for.

Mandy was born June 1, 1926 in Winnipeg and as a young child grew up in LaSalle, MB until moving back to Winnipeg.  Mandy married Warren in 1948 with whom she fulfilled her dream of starting a family.

In 1970, the family moved to Montreal and remained there for 21 years.  During her time in Montreal, Mandy worked at The Bay and then Ciba Geigy where she made many friends before retiring.  In 1991, Mandy and Warren returned home to Winnipeg where she enjoyed retirement with their siblings.  Mandy's favorite moments were spent with her children and extra special moments with her grandchildren.

Mandy loved to bake and kept everyone well supplied with her baking. Always very much appreciated.  Mandy also loved to travel and took many trips with family to tropical destinations and enjoyed a special cruise through the Panama Canal with her brother Eddie.  Mandy also loved sports and always stayed on top of football and hockey.

Over the last several years with dementia and the challenge of memory loss and communication, the one thing she never forgot was to tell everyone she loved them, she truly loved everyone that surrounded her.

Mom, we will miss you and always keep you in our hearts and thoughts.  We will cherish all the memories and feel so lucky to have had so many great years creating those memories.

Love your family.

"An angel lived among us,

A gift from God above.

She showered us with Kindness

And shared with us her love"

As per Mandy's request cremation has taken place and a celebration will be held at a later date.

We kindly request that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by watching the photo-biography above. We also encourage the sharing of photos, memories, and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

My Aunty Mandy was the sweetest and kindest person. Some of my earliest memories include spending Christmas Eve with her and my cousins and smelling her amazing coffee cake cooking. She will never be forgotten.

Aunt Mandy - so many wonderful memories over sooo many years but the common threads include your oh so warm smile, your pleasure in seeing a familiar face and your genuine interest in "how are  you ...and your family ...and your mom... as kids, my sister and I could not wait for the next visit with our Egan cousins to hang out, play and enjoy the time together.  Thinking of you brings a smile to my face, almost as large and warm as yours always was. With lots of love and wonderful memories, Jim
