PATRICIA (PAT) EMMERSON

(née DUNDAS)

October 25, 1945 - February 6, 2020

Patricia (Pat) Emmerson passed away in the Riverview Health Centre on February 6, 2020 at the age of 74 years.

She was devoted to, and survived by, her loving family; husband Keith and children Karen and Stephen (Julie), whom she took great joy in raising. She also took great pleasure in spending time with her grandson Kyler.

Pat was born in London, Ontario. She met Keith in Trinidad and then lived and worked in Hong Kong where he was based as a Captain in the Merchant Marine. They were married there in 1973. Pat worked in International Property Management but whenever possible accompanied her husband on voyages in the Far East. They later returned to North America where they lived and worked in both the US and Canada. Having taken time to raise her family she then continued working until her retirement. They also traveled frequently to the UK where their son lives. She had a talent for sewing and for many years enjoyed making clothes for both herself, her young children and grandson.

Retirement was most pleasant, spending winters in Florida on their live aboard sailboat cruising the Keys and both the east and west coasts.  Later they moved ashore for a slightly less active lifestyle. During the summers they would RV it back to Manitoba where they enjoyed spending time at their rural acreage north of Winnipeg.

My deepest condolences to Keith and family on the loss of Pat in 2020.  We attended Lisgar together in Ottawa, walked home together along Laurier Avenue, walked to shop at department stores downtown.  She was a wonderful friend.  I remember when she met Keith and fell in love and I remember her as a loving and devoted Mom.  Marguerite ❤
