MARGARET ROSE ENZLBERGER

July 17, 1950 – February 23, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Rose Enzlberger on February 23, 2026, at the age of 75, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Margaret is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Peter Enzlberger; her children, Natascha Reimer (Jai Reimer), Laurie Giesbrecht (Lyle Giesbrecht), Martin Enzlberger (Jen Nicholson), and Mike Enzlberger (Sarah Enzlberger); and her cherished grandchildren, Autumn Giesbrecht, Talia Giesbrecht, Austin Enzlberger, Ruby Enzlberger, and Libby Giesbrecht. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Cecile Plantje; and her siblings, Gerald, Bobby, and Audrey.

Born in 1950 in St. Germain, Manitoba, Margaret was the youngest of four children. She grew up along the Red River, where her family ran a market garden, and she attended Glen Lawn Collegiate. Margaret met Peter in 1968, and they were married in 1970. Their early years took them to California, where they welcomed Natascha, before returning to Canada in 1972. After a time in Riverton, following the birth of their second daughter, Laurie, they settled in Stonewall, Manitoba, where Martin and Michael completed the family and where they raised their children.

Margaret was a woman of deep warmth who built meaningful relationships wherever she went. While she was a certified Home Care Worker later in life, her heart was always in the home. She found joy in the outdoors—whether on family adventures, long walks, or bike rides, and also enjoyed playing card games and sharing coffee with friends. An avid traveller, Margaret explored Central America, the Arctic, Israel, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Europe. Though her dream trip to Scotland was waylaid by the pandemic and her illness, her spirit of adventure never wavered.

Margaret was the ultimate "prayer warrior"—a woman whose faith was her foundation and whose family and friendships were her treasure.

Margaret was a treasured childhood friend. We grew up a short distance apart. Both of us on market gardening farms Along the Red River in St Germaine, MB.

Every minute of our friendship was joy filled. I can see by her posts on Facebook that she continued that joy filled life through her time on this earth.

a beauriful lady with truly a heart of gold.

It's been a million years since I knew Margaret. I was a child but I remember how kind she was. Natasha was just an infant and I told her that she made the prettiest baby I had ever seen. Some people only touch our lives for a split second but remain in our hearts forever

Warm memories are all that's left behind. Margaret was a sweet caring person especially where her family and friends was concerned. She'll be sorely missed.

Dear Peter and Natasha and family, please accept our deepest heartfelt condolences! I warmly remember how margare and I shared many moments in prayer and intercessio. She is a woman of great faith and powerful in the Lord. I will always cherish and love her for the impact she had on my life. I fondly remember how she would show me her favorite scriptures and had a genuine interest in my life. Then we would pray together. She encouraged me deeply and I will continue to love her until I reach heaven one day to laugh with her again. Thank you Margaret for being my friend!

Peter and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Although the last few years have been hard, Margaret was determined to make the best of each day. We didn't see each other often, when we did it was never stop talking, laughing and catching up on what was going on in our lives. We called ourselves sisters and I will always cherish our memories.

Sending sympathy to Peter & family. We were happy to see Margaret & Pete last May at gathering for our nephew David. Arni had a good conversation with them both & was so pleased to see them. She was truly a lovely person.

I first met Margaret and Peter the first time I lived in Manitoba more than 20 years ago when I first learned the art of healing prayer. She was a mentor and an encouraging figure in my life. I was so glad to meet her again when I returned a few years back. She is a wonderful sister in Christ and although she will be surely misse, I rejoice for her because she has surely earned a great reward.
