DONNA MAY FLETCHER

(née DOMINO)

December 29, 1952 – March 22, 2021

Donna May Fletcher passed away peacefully, in her home, on March 22, 2021, at the age of 68 years.

She was born on December 29, 1952 in Atikokan, Ontario where she led a highly active lifestyle in the outdoors. She was full of eternal beauty and she was even the prom queen at her high school.

Donna moved to Winnipeg where she met her husband Patrick in 1977, getting her Camaro checked in the mechanic shop that he had owned. Together they built a beautiful family and had a son named Dereck and a daughter named Crystal. For over 20 years Donna worked at the Canada Post office and she loved her job. She was a woman full of strength and ambition. Donna battled multiple cancers for over 14 years. Her battle was not lost because within those 14 years she built the most amazing memories with her family and friends. Donna enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time at the lake in the sunshine with her loved ones.

Donna lost her son Dereck at a young age from cancer and now they are together at peace; two beautiful angels looking down on the ones they love. She is also predeceased by her parents Pearl and Harry; brothers Edward and Bobby, as well as sister Gloria.

Her husband Patrick and daughter Crystal love her more than words can say. Donna had much love in her heart for her sister Debbie and her brothers Jackie and David along with many other family and friends. The list of loved ones Donna cherished is too long to name (you know who you are).

The family would like to send a special thank you to CancerCare Manitoba. Memorial Contributions to CancerCare Manitoba, in Donna's memory, are greatly appreciated by the family.

As per Donna's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date when all of her loved ones can gather together in the sunshine, involving many Margaritas. In that moment, we will all have a toast, and hold up our glasses to celebrate and remember all of the amazing times and memories we have shared with her. In the meantime, Donna’s family kindly requests that all of her friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour her memory by sharing photos, memories and stories by making use of the comment section on this page.

She was so giving with open doors and a welcoming heart.  She was a mother, she was a wife and she was a best friend to most.  After all, we all know that Donna was the life of the party.  Most memories reminisced about Donna results with endless laughter.  Donna you really were a rare gem, and you will forever live on in our memories.

As Donna would love to sing, "we're here for a good time not a long time, so have a good time the sun can't shine every day.” - Trooper

May her soul rest in a paradise of warmth and comfort. Think of her as living in the hearts of her family and friends.

My condolences go out to Pat, Crystal, family and friends on the passing of Donna. In the time we are all facing right now it is with some comfort to read she took her last breath peacefully in her own home, the center of her life and her love of all things,      I only met Donna a few of times but remember her for a very "bubbly" and warm personality and her beautiful smile.   I could see how she would be the life of the party.   She will truly be missed by those who we blessed to have her in their lives. I pray God gives strength to Pat, Crystal and the family to get thru this time of great loss and grief. May your memories of Donna be vivid, plentiful and in time bring a smile, a nice big warm smile to your face. Just like the ones that Donna shared with you and us all.

Always a doll, such a beautiful lady. I will always remember her for her kindness and that beautiful smile. We often wonder why God takes the "Special Ones" so early. He obviously has a job for her somewhere in the Mopar Mountains. A ~*Beautiful Angel*~ she will continue to be. Rest in Peace my beautiful friend ❤.

So many good memories with Donna.  I’m still lucky enough to have one of her homemade bottles of wine. She was always so welcoming at the cabin and in the city. There was never a question if I was invited in or not, I knew I could just walk in.  Thank you Donna for all the fun years. You will truly be missed 💕

Beautiful true to form. These are memories of an amazing friend and relative that holds some of my best memories while hanging and chillin with this thoughtful, gracious, giving, forgiving, knock out, wonderful shopaholic of a woman. Really going to miss all the positive upbeat things you stood for. Always a BIG smile day or night. I pray you are at peace now. Enjoy the beach above. Love you.

Always a friendly smile that will never be forgotten. Even over the past bunch of years even when you were dealt a crappy hand you still played the game of life to its fullest. Rest easy now and enjoy meeting up with all of your people that you had missed till now. Cheers
