FREDRICK CHARLES FLETT

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Fred Flett, on November 19, 2022, at the age of 83.

Fred will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 41 years, Donna Flett; step-daughters, Donna Koss and Darlene (Don) Pososki; step-son, Harold Allen; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his step-daughter, Debbie Pagee; granddaughter, Leanne Vandal; his mother and father, Eleanor and Frederick; brother Rick; and father in-law, David Walker.

Fred was born in Selkirk, Manitoba on November 11, 1939, he was the first of five boys.

Together with Donna he bought his own semi truck and was employed as an owner operator until his late sixties. He had always been a hard worker and although he enjoyed travelling for his career there was an undeniable happiness, he felt spending his retirement years with his wife and family. His face would light up anytime the family came to visit, especially the little ones.

Fred enjoyed the little things in life. He and his wife liked to take trips to the Half Moon for lunch, or at times, drive out to the family cabin for a visit. When able, he often enjoyed exercising at the Wellness Centre and spent his spare time working on vehicles in his garage.

He will be forever missed.

“If tears could build a stairway and memories build a lane.

I would walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.”

Love Donna

My deepest sympathy for your loss. I'm glad I had the privilege of meeting him at Brent and Nicole's wedding. Jameson often talks about 'Papa with the cane'. Sending you all much love.

Our dearest grandpa, our “papa with the cane”. No longer with us, no longer in pain. My mind it wanders through questions it seems, our memories past and future dreams. Did he know how much we loved him so? How much it hurt to watch him go? But without a doubt we know what to do, we know above all what would comfort you. I can hear it now in that raspy tone, “Look out for your grandma”, so she’s not alone. So to our dearest grandpa, you can rest now it’s true, we’ll take good care of her, I promise you.
