I had the opportunity to work with Wayne at RBC at Grant & Nathaniel. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. He was such a joy to be around. A few years ago after I left RBC, I ran into him at a friend's gathering. He was just as kind and and fun, regardless of how long it had been since we last connected. The last time we saw him, he was cheering on his grandchild at a hockey game - he was such a family man! I'm sure he will be missed. Our condolences to Sandy and his family.

I worked with Wayne at RBC Grant & Nathaniel branch. He is remembered as a kind, thoughtful gentleman who brought much humor to our day. I recall how proud Wayne was of his family as he often spoke of them. My sincere condolences to Sandra & family.

Aunt Shirley passed on the sad news of Wayne passing. It was always nice to interact with Wayne at the Cooper events or reunions. I first met Wayne at the Steveson's farm. If I recall correctly he was a good friend of Russ Stevenson before he hooked up with Sandra ( my cousin). Then later because we both worked in banking, had some conversations on how our institutions compared. Also my parents, Dorothy and Ken Currie mentioned their special friendship with Chrissie.

While we did not have many chances to meet and spend time together ( we live in Victoria), Wayne was always so friendly and pleasant to be around when we did meet at our Cooper events.

Sandra, and family, we pray that God will bless you and provide what you need as you deal with the loss. Lots of love, cousin Brian and Faye Currie

I met Wayne at RBC Grant & Nathaniel in the late 1990s where we worked for Royal Trust & RBC. Wayne was always kind , thoughtful , friendly and made everyone smile or laugh! We enjoyed many years working together and also after retirement, enjoyed breakfast or lunch get togethers. He always spoke about his family and was extremely proud of them. Wayne enjoyed running on his lunch hour and was generally the first person to arrive in the mornings ... he was also generally first to volunteer in many charitable events or branch functions. A great man who was admired by many. My sincere condolences to Sandra & the family in the loss of someone so special We will always remember Wayne with a smile and great memories of happy times together .

I met Wayne 30 years ago when we became colleagues at RBC. What started out as a colleage, then mentor turned into a lasting friendship. He was one of the most patient and kind individuals I ever worked with, always making time to answer my many questions. We laughed alot, sometimes at each others expense but we always had fun and being part of the RBC G&N family was the best! I will miss his laugh and his hugs... he gave the best hugs. I am so fortunate to have known Wayne and his family. I send them all my heartfelt condolences and so much love.

Wayne was a colleague and mentor. I met Wayne when I first joined RBC Way back in the mid 90's. So positive and genuine. He insisted I take a longer vacation when planing a trip to Europe in 2001. "You will never regret it!" He was right as it's been my one and only trip to Europe. Honored to have known and worked with Wayne. My thoughts are with Sandra and family.

A man larger than life. He brought joy, laughter and love to those who were honoured to know him. To say we had fun at work would be an understatement! To saw we had fun wherever Wayne went would be very accurate. Recently we were able to reconnect and return to our breakfasts - where visits would almost turn into lunch. My condolences to his amazing family. May you find peace in memories and know that he will never be forgotten. So much love -Abby

And he would have gotten a kick out of the reCAPTCHA rejecting my selection many times. #oldeyes

I had the pleasure of staying in Wayne's home for a few Christmases in Winnipeg. I always felt warmly welomed as a member of his extended family. He had an interest in genealogy and had questions about the Boykos for his grandchildren. Wayne was smart and personable, an expert on many subjects and able to converse with anyone.

I’ve been thinking so much about everyone this week. I know how tightly woven the family bonds are, and I can only imagine how deeply this loss is felt. Wayne was such a strong presence—he’ll always be part of the fabric that holds you all together. I’m holding you close in my heart right now. If there’s anything you need, I’m here."

My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time. Wayne was like a second dad to me and I always felt that way no matter the distance or time between visits. I'll always remember his love of family, his humour and his compassion. I will miss him dearly.
