AARON ALEX ARNOLD FRASER

July 21, 1986 – February 20, 2026

With great sadness, the family of Aaron Alex Arnold Fraser announce his peaceful passing on February 20, 2026, at the age of 39. Aaron is survived by his parents, Michael and Philomena; sister, Cassandra (Kurtis); as well as his extended family in Canada, United Kingdom, East Africa, and Goa, India. Aaron was predeceased by his grandparents, Barry and Sharon Fraser, and Alex and Delphine Braganza.

Aaron was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Michael and Philomena Fraser on July 21, 1986. He spent his childhood in Garden City, where he attended Collicutt Elementary School, H.C. Avery Middle School, and Garden City Collegiate for high school. He then went on to the University of Manitoba, where he graduated on the Dean’s list with a double major in Social Sciences and Film Studies with his Bachelor of Arts.

Aaron was employed as a bus operator for the City of Winnipeg. He was a proud union member of Union 1505. He enjoyed meeting people and was kind and compassionate towards others. Aaron was always willing to help whether it was asked for or not.

Aaron had a great love for cooking. One of his favourite meals, passed down from his maternal great-grandfather—who was born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne (a true Geordie)—was roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. He would always attempt to give his mom tips on how to make the Yorkshire pudding rise, as opposed to eating hockey pucks. His mom would teach him to make masalas, curries, and samosas that were passed down to her.

Aaron had an extraordinary passion for music, movies, and animals. Aaron learned to play several musical instruments while in high school. When Aaron was younger, he had his heart set on becoming a film director; his creative passion grew in high school and continued where he majored in film studies at the University of Manitoba. Aaron had a remarkable love for animals, especially dogs; he was known for taking care of his friends' dogs and taking them home with him.

Aaron enjoyed travelling overseas (East Africa, Thailand, Mexico), camping in Whiteshell Provincial Park, and seeing Canada by train, where he had plans to repeat his adventures. Aaron appreciated spending time with his group of friends, whether they stopped by his place to have pizza, at their Christmas get-togethers, or during their Zoom video chats during COVID; he truly appreciated their friendship and the time he was able to spend with them.

Aaron’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and nursing staff for the exceptional care at the Intensive Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital.

A Catholic funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Burrin Avenue, in Winnipeg.

When Tomorrow Starts Without You

When tomorrow starts without you,

We will try to understand,

That an angel came and called your name,

And took you by the hand;

The angel said your place was ready,

In Heaven far above,

And that you’d have to leave behind

All those you dearly love.

But when you walked through Heaven’s Gates,

You felt so much as home,

for God looked down, smiled at you,

And told you Welcome Home.

So when tomorrow starts without you,

Don’t think he is far a part,

For every time you think of him,

He is right there in your heart.
