Keith Freeman

KEITH FREEMAN
March 29, 1953 – June 3, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of Keith Freeman, who passed away in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on June 3, 2026, at the age of 73.
Keith was born on March 29, 1953, in Morden, Manitoba. He was raised in Franklin, Manitoba, and attended high school in Neepawa, and later attended Red River College. Although adult life took him to Alberta and Saskatchewan, Manitoba was always home. Whether in the city or at the family cabin in Wasagaming, he found comfort in the places that meant the most to him.
Keith was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lorraine, whose loss he carried with him for two decades. He was also predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Ernest; sister Bev; and biological family, Ken and Christopher Pinch.
He leaves behind his children, Jennifer, Jacqueline, and Keith (Tanya); his biological sisters, Linda and Karyn (Ingo); his stepmother Patricia, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends who will remember him fondly.
Keith built a career that included time at CKY as a cameraman, a videographer with MidCan and later as a manager at Wholesale Sports, where his appreciation for the outdoors was a natural fit. He loved spending time at the cabin in Wasagaming, enjoying the peace of nature and the simple pleasures of being outside.
A lifelong collector, Keith had a passion for motorcycles, guitars, and countless other treasures that caught his interest over the years. He could often be found strumming a guitar, tinkering with one of his collections, or sharing stories from days gone by - he was known as an engaging storyteller. He loved reminiscing about the past, and those fortunate enough to know him well could spend hours listening to his memories, adventures, advice, and observations.
Keith will be remembered for his quiet nature, his enduring loyalty, his appreciation for the outdoors, and the many stories that connected generations of family and friends. His memory will live on in the roads he travelled, the music he played, the cookshack happy hours he loved, and the countless conversations that ended with just one more story.
His children Jacqueline and Keith extend their sincere gratitude to everyone who has offered their support, kindness, and condolences during this difficult time and before his passing. Keith will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Dear Jake and family,
I spent a wonderful, fun afternoon with your Dad a few years ago in Vancouver and can certainly attest to him being the most brilliant raconteur. The stories he told kept me laughing and entertained for hours. He was such a kind and observant man and he will be missed. May his memory be a blessing. Sending extra love your way at this difficult time. Lots of love- Jacquie and Su Yon
