Bob Fromm

ROBERT (BOB) FROMM
July 3, 1947 – March 24, 2026
Robert (Bob) Fromm, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026 in Winnipeg. Bob was born on July 3, 1947 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and he led a life filled with dedication to his family and career. Bob was known for his sharp sense of humor and outgoing personality.
Bob began his career in the wood industry as a teenager working at his father’s business Beaver Lumber. His passion and work ethic led him to senior positions at Wellwood Building Supplies and Taiga Forest Products.
Bob’s career brought him to Thunder Bay in February 1970 where he met Denise, at the local Flamingo Club, they married 11 months later in November. They embarked on a journey together that included several relocations for Bob’s career. Over the years, they resided in London, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, and finally settled in Winnipeg in 1990.
In 2005, Bob and Denise retired and embraced the lifestyle that reflected their love for family and leisure. Winters were spent soaking up the sun in Arizona, and summers were enjoyed at their cottage in Petersfield. In 2008, they built their dream retirement home on the beautiful Netley Creek in Petersfield which became their permanent residence – a place filled with warmth and memories.
A loving husband to Denise for 55 years, he was also a very proud father to Rebecca (Troy) and an adoring grandfather to Reis and Tyler, his greatest fans. He cherished every moment spent with them sharing simple joys, playing in the sand, fishing, trips to the dump, building tree houses and other lake projects. His greatest gift to the boys was his love, time, and unwavering attention. He was a big influence in their lives from their birth to his death, and his spirit, love and lessons will carry forward - a lasting reflection of the man he was.
Bob was pre deceased by his parents, Sig and Rita Fromm; as well as his sister Elsa; and brother in law Sam. Both his mom and sister passed away with the same diagnosis, pancreatic cancer.
Bob is survived by his two sisters, Delee and Pamela, who have been so supportive and caring. Their friendship and commitment to helping Bob over his 7 month journey will never be forgotten.
Bob leaves behind a lifetime of memories for his loved ones to treasure. May his memory bring comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
“If you never died -
you haven’t lived”
A grateful thank you to Cancer Care Manitoba, the Palliative Care team, Riverview Health Centre, and MAID … all organizations that provided the most supportive care possible. It is important to note that these organizations have very special people working in them and we cannot express enough how deeply the care we received made such a difference.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Care or your favourite charity would be appreciated.

Sincere condolences Denise, Rebecca, Reiss, Tyler and family. Bobbie hired me as a salesman with Taiga Forest Products and helped mentor me along the way. He cared not just about the staff but our families as well. We could see how he absolutely adored Denise and how much he loved Rebecca and how proud he was of her. He will be truly missed.

Our heartfelt sympathy, Denise on the passing of your dear hubby, Bobby, From his many family tales we are familiar with how much you, Rebecca & your boys, Reis & Tyler meant to your dad. To Bobby's sisters, it was good to hear you were there for your brother at a time when it mattered most. We first met Bobby& Denise @ PC Resort in Az. The guys golfed together weekly & Bobby loved trying to find these strange gifts to which he spun a yarn or two as he presented their strange gifts at the wind-up BBQ. He had a friendly sense of humour that was usually good for lots of chuckles. Denise would quietly smile & say... "That's Bob, for you." As the years rolled quickly by, our friendships all grew & we became very close friends who could be found visiting back & forth for a coffee or BBQ. We shall cherish our personal memories of those fun times in the desert. We hope your own memories will bring some comfort & peace as you deal with these difficult times
Love & Prayers, ♥️🙏🙏

It is a pity that we missed Bobby in 1996 on the railway station of Winnipeg on our trip from Toronto (Delee/Sam) to our Aunt Rita and uncle Robert/Sig in Edmonton.
I remember Bobby only when he was in Holland in 1955 ??? Together with Else and their parents in de Kerkstraat 72 in Amsterdam. The house of is his grandfather and mother.
Bobby is my only nephew in Canada and a pity that we don't know each other.
But sure is that with a father and mother like Robert and Rita he must be very good husband, father and grandfather.
Connie and I wish you all all the best with this loss.
Kind Regards,
Connie and Ruud Aries.

Bob was so full of life & energy, it's hard to believe he won't be stopping by on the quad or motorcycle for one of his humorous chats. That twinkle in his eye & mischievous smile will be missed in the neighborhood. I have no doubt you are keeping the big guy on his toes! God Bless you Bob 🙏 Love to you Denise & family.

To know Bobbie was to love him! Having spent winters as his next door neighbor we came to know him as a very special man in so many ways. Friendly, witty, caring, generous, and loving. Our grand girls loved him and Denise when they visited us! Bobbie was such a bright warm light to be around. His smile, enduring friendship made him such a wonderful person .
we are deeply saddened by his passing, we are profoundly certain he is warming heaven with his presence !
God bless you Bobbie.

Bob always had something funny to say or do. Bob had a big heart, he worried about family and friends. He could be loud and stir the pot all in fun. We always joked about retail verses wholesale, who had the best bottom line, he was a number person. Lois and I took in conventions , cruises , a New York City trip and lots of dominoes with him and Denise, all rememberable. He always kept Denise on her toes with his antics. We will miss you Bobbie and see you later on the other side

Bob was a special friend to Carol and I. especially Carol as Bob would show up quite frequently with a "rose" taken from our previous home (when we were neighbors). He did this to help Carol get through her cancer treatments. What a guy.
