BONITA-LOU "BONNIE" FULLER

(née WARN, BERGMAN, SWANSTROM)

1959 - 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Bonnie.

Mom is survived by her three daughters, Melanie (Michael), Chris (Aaron), and Wendy (Daniel). She leaves behind her long-time partner Ray, two elder brothers, Don and Danny, and four beautiful grandchildren.

Mom touched the lives of many, calling Edmonton, Whitehorse, and Winnipeg “home” throughout the years. In her youth, she was a member of the Yukon Bible Fellowship Church, and would take great comfort in her faith throughout the rest of her life. She had a seemingly endless capacity for love and compassion, and she found great joy in her career as a hairstylist and eventually as salon manager.

Mom loved music and dancing and had a gift for playing music by ear. She loved to cook and bake, and would frequently have a batch of Kringle waiting for the kids when they got home from school. Mom was generous, thoughtful, and empathic, with a delightful sense of humour that kept people laughing for hours. There were few things made Mom happier than going for a long drive, and she was happiest on the road with a Tim’s and her tunes.

In her more recent years, Mom led a simple and quiet life, and enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and other loved ones. She passed away quietly, with her eldest by her side, and will be interred in Whitehorse later this year.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, aides, and countless other support staff at both the Health Sciences Center and Victoria General Hospital, for the empathy and compassion they displayed while taking care of Mom over the past several months. We would also like to thank the team at Ethical Death Care for helping us through this difficult time, and treating Mom with dignity and respect. You all have our eternal gratitude.

My condolences on your loss.  I was a classmate of Bonnie’s from FH Collins High School in Whitehorse.  My memories of Bonnie are of a soft-spoken,  gentle, kind woman that always treated those around her with love and respect.  I’m glad she kept that specialness throughout her life.
