LYNN MARIE GARBALD

(née Dolyniuk)

August 15, 1985 - May 26, 2026

With broken hearts and the deepest of love, we announce the passing of Lynn Marie Garbald on May 26, 2026. After a short and fierce four-and-a-half-month battle with cancer, Lynn passed away peacefully in the home she loved in La Salle, Manitoba, surrounded by the love of her closest family.

Born in Winnipeg on August 15, 1985, Lynn was a woman who defined "bubbly." To know Lynn was to be invited into a life lived with contagious positivity and an adventurous heart. She was truly the life of the party — not just because of her energy, but because of her genuine kindness and the way she made every guest feel welcomed in her home.

Lynn’s life was a collection of beautiful adventures. Whether she was travelling the world with her husband and best friend, Jann, or simply enjoying the semi-rural peace of her La Salle neighborhood, she found joy in the journey. She was an avid reader, a talented cook and baker, and found great solace in the simple pleasure of a long walk. In fact, Lynn's multi-year unbroken step goal streak is something she was quite proud of. Above all, Lynn was a devoted cat mom to Boots and Zoey, who remained by her side, as well as to Fluffy and Mittens, who surely greeted her when she finally found her rest.

Throughout her illness, Lynn never lost her essence. She faced her challenge with a level of strength and hope that left us in awe. Even in her hardest moments, she moved with grace and a legendary spirit of positivity that inspired everyone who walked into her room.

Lynn is survived and will be forever missed by her devoted husband, Jann Garbald; her brothers Troy Dolyniuk and Sean Dolyniuk (Karen); her mother-in-law Brigitte Garbald and father-in-law Jann Garbald Sr.; and her sister-in-law Ramona Donaldson (Chris). Her legacy of love lives on through her nieces and nephews: Mwamba and Lulu; Desneiges, James, and Emily; and Nina and Tess, all of whom she adored.

She is now reunited in peace with her mother, Pauline Dionne; her father, Dale Dolyniuk; and her sister-in-law, Rebecca Dolyniuk.

Lynn’s family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the medical teams and loved ones who supported her through her final months. In her memory, we ask that you take a walk in the fresh air, bake something delicious for someone you love, or simply choose to be the "life of the party" in your own corner of the world.
