DAVID WADE GESSNER

July 29, 1966 - November 16, 2023

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer, David passed away at his home at the age of 57 years.

David will be greatly missed by his children, Dario Di Santo and Danica Di Santo.

Growing up in Charleswood, David excelled at every sport he played. Summers were spent on the golf course and winters were spent on the hockey rink. In his later years David enjoyed his many trips to his favorite vacation spot, Las Vegas.

David was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. He loved his children deeply and was very proud of them both.

In keeping with David's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.

David's family kindly requests that all of his friends and relatives take a few minutes to honour his memory by sharing photos, memories, and stories, using the comment section on this page.

Dario and Danica, we are so sorry for your loss.  We had many great times together back in the 90's.  One memory that really sticks out is just before Christmas, Dom and David went out one afternoon to purchase a real Christmas tree.  Not only did they come back with a tree but David was carrying the cutest little puppy.  I said WOW you got a new puppy, he had this little smirk on his face and then began to laugh and said....nope, it's yours!  Our hearts are with you both ❤.  RIP David.

So sorry to hear. Gessner and I met 20 years ago at IPI and we have been co-workers off and on since, but we have been FRIENDS the whole time. One of the most genuine humans I've ever met. He was very proud of his family. You all take care.

Dario and Danica My sincerest and deepest condolences to you both on the passing of your dad. I know he loved you both very much and always wanted the best for you. I was very saddened when I first learned he was sick and has now passed.  As his partner for six years from 2003 to 2009 I can attest to the fact that he was a good man, genuine, caring and yes definately a hard worker. A few of the traits I admired in David.  He and I kept in touch a bit over the years and most recently spoke in July. He was very proud of you both! I have many fond memories of time spent with David that I will cherish forever. To all who were a part of David's life I wish everyone peace, comfort and courage at this difficult time. I am saddened the world has lost a good man!  David will always have a special place in my heart.  Rest peacefully David Love Debbie (Renzi)

One of the good ones.  He was a kind and a  generous guy with an easy way about him.  Super competitive and always fun to hang out. RIP to one of Charleswood's Sons.❤

Had the cleanest car I have ever seen. ever.. One year we were The Lone Ranger and Tonto for Halloween. The next year we reversed roles haha/ Dave was a good friend and all round awesome guy! it was so good to see him again after all those years as the boys got together on a semi regular basis for shenanigans and hijinx. He will be lovingly remembered and we will raise a glass and set up an empty chair at our next "Book Club Meeting" as Benny refers to it. lol. Rest easy old mate..Vaya con dios..
