ROBERTA GLADUE

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Roberta (Bird) Gladue (nee Dentrey), on November 19, 2019, at the age of 69.

Roberta was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Sophia, and her only brother John. Left to cherish Roberta’s memory, former spouse and lifetime friend, Peter Gladue; sons Robert (Noreen), Kevin (Francine); four grandchildren, who lovingly called her Boo, Eddy, Mellissa (Tyler), Sydney, and Skyler; great-granddaughter Peyton; sisters Linda (Kit), Susan (Dennis), Nancy (Rob), and Arlyn (Larry); as well as extended family and many friends.

In 1966, Bird met the love of her life, Peter and soon after, in 1969 were married to create their life together. Through the years, Roberta was devoted to her sons’ sporting events, attending hockey games despite the frigid temperatures always proudly wearing their hockey buttons

Many weekends were spent camping where Bird enjoyed blueberry picking, fishing and bonfires with her family. In the last several years she enjoyed living at the cottage in Lac du Bonnet where she found tranquility within her surroundings.

Bird’s smile made any person feel welcomed and she made many friends in Lac du Bonnet where her presence will be missed. Having many talents she was known for her cooking, sewing and crafting where she would produce tasty and beautiful items, always fixing something or other and many craft projects for all to enjoy. Bird enjoyed reading, playing bingo, cards or anything that brought the family together. Her joy was making people happy.

As per Bird’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private scattering of ashes will be done at a later date.
