TREVOR SCOTT GRANT

November 30th, 1965 - December 25th, 2021

Trevor passed away peacefully at the age of 56 in the early hours of Christmas morning.

Trevor is survived by his wife and best friend Nicole; children, Andrea and Scott; parents, Gary and Judy; sisters, Tannis and Tamara; as well as his cousin Marlene, whom he loved like a sister.

Trevor graduated from Fort Richmond Collegiate in 1983. In his youth Trevor developed a lifelong love for music, fast cars and faster motorcycles. He was also a proud fan of the local punk scene and attended many live shows. His favourite rock bands were the Clash, the Ramones and the Pretenders and he had a longtime admiration for the Blues Brothers. Trevor often channelled his inner Elwood Blues while wearing dark sunglasses behind the wheel of a powerful big block Dodge. He was also an avid motorcyclist and made many memorable trips with his friends, who were all like brothers to him. Trevor was also a gifted athlete and played defensive line in the Canadian Junior Football League for the Winnipeg Rods and the Fort Garry Lions.

Trevor joined Manitoba Hydro right out of high school and enjoyed a long and diverse career from 1984 to 2017, which included a remote posting in Gillam. Trevor embraced the North and following his retirement from Manitoba Hydro as a senior electrical technician, he was the successful candidate for the position of maintenance service manager with Northwest Territories Power Corporation in Inuvik, a position he held for three years until he retired and returned to Manitoba in early 2021.

In addition to his mechanical hobbies Trevor was also an avid cook and often had several smokers going on his deck. His dinners were legendary. Trevor was truly a renaissance man who always had a project or seven on the go and had a contagious enthusiasm for his passions.

He was typically the most intelligent person in the room, and always the most thoughtful.

He was also famously generous and often placed the needs of others ahead of his own.

This was most evident in his love for his wife and children, anyone who knew Trevor knows that Andrea and Scotty are the sum of all his hopes and dreams.

In addition to his immediate family Trevor was loved by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and countless friends from far and wide. He will be missed deeply by many.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Go Fund Me that has been set up for the education of his children.

In light of current restrictions, no service will be held at this time, but a celebration of his life will take place in the summer of 2022.

I had a chance to meet up with Trev a few years ago for beers and wings.  It was a great time with old memories trickling back.  See you on the other side brother.
