Paul Graveline

PAUL GRAVELINE
March 1, 1948 - February 7, 2026
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, Paul Graveline, at St. Boniface Hospital on the afternoon of February 7, 2026, at the age of 77.
Paul will finally be reunited with his beloved wife of 53 years, Rose Marie Graveline, who predeceased him. Paul will also be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Brigitte (Normand), Michelle (Weber), and Joanne (Ryan); and by his 10 grandchildren: Cole, Brady, Jade, Phoenix, Riley, Chase, Chloe, Holly, Gage, and Ella. He was predeceased by his parents, Marcel and Marguerite Graveline; and by his brother, Gilles Graveline; he is also survived by his step mother, Lise Graveline.
Paul grew up in Letellier, MB. A remarkable hockey talent, he became a true standout at 17 years old and was offered a chance to play for the New York Rangers during the era of the Original Six teams. Throughout his life, he embraced many roles—teacher, trucker, landscaper, and site superintendent—each contributing to his wide depth of knowledge and life experience. Paul was also involved with the Festival du Voyageur for many years and played a key part in creating the very first skating trail on the Red River, a winter attraction now enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of Winnipeggers each year.
Paul was a hardworking man whose dedication, contributions and remarkable presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. In many ways, he was a superstar—on the ice and in the many roles he embraced throughout his life.
Paul married the love of his life, Rose Marie, in 1971, and together they began their family. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Paul was a kind and dependable man, always there when you needed him and never hesitant to lend a helping hand. Selfless, devoted, and deeply compassionate, he touched countless lives with his generosity and genuine spirit. His bright smile and warm laughter brought immeasurable comfort and happiness into our lives. Though we will miss him dearly, the love and memories we shared with him will forever remain in our hearts. We are grateful for every moment shared, every memory made, and every lesson he taught.
Paul loved being surrounded by his entire family on every occasion, and for him, there could never be too many snacks. He was also quite the joker, always ready with a perfectly timed joke or comment. His sense of humour had a way of making everyone laugh and bringing smiles to countless faces. Paul's legacy lives on in the laughter he shared, the values he instilled, and the love he poured into everyone around him.
His favourite activities included playing hockey, fishing, watching the Winnipeg Jets games, tending to the flower gardens and feeding the birds and bunnies with his wife. Paul cherished every moment spent with his family, especially when it involved supporting his grandkids in their sports and celebrating their life achievements. He was endlessly proud of each one of them. You could truly say he was their number one fan. Paul was always finding little things to do that would bring joy to his family, especially his grandkids. Whether it was a simple activity or a thoughtful gesture, he made sure they were having fun and that every moment together was filled with laughter and happiness, creating the kind of memories we will cherish forever.
Heaven gained another angel
and he will protect us forever.
Cremation has taken place. The family is still finalizing plans for the burial. Information will be shared as soon as it becomes available. We appreciate your support and understanding during this time.

The obituary really captured Paul’s essence. His love of life, of course hockey, his wife , children and grandchildren. He was always the life of the party and made everyone feel welcome.
I was fortunate to spent many year hanging out with him those wonderful family reunions. Those were special times. Paul, Rosie Yvette and I did a lot of camping and boating during the summers up at Plage Albert and Lake of the Woods. Lots nd lots of good times. Paul Married Rosie and I married Yvette. I think Brigette was born the night Paul and Rosie returned from our wedding celebration.
Ah the Memories.
We want to wish our sincerest condolences to all of Paul and Rosie’s children and grandchildren.
I know his bright blue eyes and that warm smile and grin will be with you forever as it is with us.
Miss you Paul.
Brian and Yvette McVicar.

I met Paul in 1963 at College St. Joseph in Otterburne. We were in the same grade and most often same class room. We played many sport available then and needless to say hockey was indeed his favorite. He was liked by all then and understand why that side of him didn't change the rest of his life. Sincere sympathy and heartfelt condolences to all families for your loss and friends and acquaintances who had the pleasure of knowing him. Rest in peace, Paul. You deserve the eternal rest. 🙏🤗❤️
