CORY ALLEN DARCY GREEN

July 5, 1984 – October 21, 2021

With heavy hearts, the family announces that Cory Green passed away on October 21st, 2021 at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg at the age of 37 years old.

He was survived by the love of his life for the past 4 ½ years, Nicole Jolicoeur; children Knox & Fenix Green and Taylor & Jordyn Jolicoeur; parents Debbie & Gord Green and brother Ryan Green (Sandra Green); nieces Kenzie & Bailey Green; Nana Hazel Dunlop. He was predeceased by his Papa Frank Dunlop in 1985; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Cory always loved cooking, camping and making friends. On family camping trips, Cory would be the first one out of the vehicle and ran to the park to play with other children. All throughout his life, he was always helping friends and family with anything that was needed. Cory always ended every text, phone call and visit with 3 precious words “I Love You “.

Cory was also a fantastic father, with the patience of an angel and a love for life, he always put his children first. They did everything together, creating great memories. When Cory met Nicole and her daughters, it was love at first sight. They began their life together, doing everything together from cooking, cleaning, laundry to planning activities for the kids spending quality time with them. The love Cory had for Nicole and their four children was beyond words.

He had various jobs throughout his life including lifeguard at Miami Beach, cooking in the concession stand then later running/ cooking in several restaurants, volunteer fire fighter then finally switching to road construction. Paving was a way to complete the family tradition, his father sold construction equipment, brother is a diesel mechanic and Cory was an operator. His final employer was OB1 Contracting Ltd. Cory loved working with the crew and for his boss.

Cory, what can I say...I am surely gonna miss you, especially our gatherings at my son's home, with you and Nicole there.  I will surely miss hugging you,  laughing and talking with you.  You have always brought sunshine whenever I saw you.  To me you were a very special person to know, and you never left us without smiling at us and saying see you next time.  As a young man to me, you were an exceptional person always caring for Nicole and your family.  I love you my friend.  Rest in peace my friend until we meet again.

Cory was such an amazing guy and seeing the joy he brought to my friend Nicole's life filled me with happiness, I'm glad I got to know him for the time that I could and always had a blast with Cory, and I will admit I loaded up on his fantastic dirty burgers last time I saw him, sending lots of love to Nicole, the kids and to the family. I'll always remember him.

Cory was a welcome addition to our family.  The kindness, support, and unconditional love he showed Nicole, Taylor, and Jordyn did not go unnoticed.  I was lucky enough to celebrate some milestones with him - most memorable was when he and Nicole bought their first home.  Ray and I met them at Red Lobster to celebrate and we were so proud of the life they were building together.  We won’t forget that special night.  Cory was taken much too soon, but the impact he had on our family will last a lifetime.  My deepest condolences to Nicole, Gord, Debbie, his kids and brother who I know he loved so much.
