GORDON WILLIAM THEODORE GREEN

July 16, 1952 - January 6, 2026

With breaking hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon after a valiant battle with cancer at Health Sciences Centre.

Gord is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Debbie; his son Ryan (Sandra); and his greatest gifts, his 4 grandchildren, Bailey, Kenzie, Fenix and Knox. He is also survived by his sisters, Janet, Bonnie, MaryEllen and their families; his sisters in law and brothers in law, Margie (Ron), Irene (John), Darcy (Patty) and their families.

He was predeceased by his son Cory in 2021; his parents, Daniel and Lorraine McElheron; his in-laws, Frank and Hazel Dunlop; and brothers in law, Dave Mychasiw and Mel Yaseniuk.

Gord was employed in the heavy equipment industry, starting his career in 1972 at Huggard Equipment and retiring after 50 years in the industry from HiTrac.  He also enjoyed his involvement with The St. Boniface Wildlife Association serving on their executive for many years, and also a term as their president. Gord also participated in the Wildlife Hunter Safety Program training youth fire arms safety.

First and foremost to Gord was his love for family. He was truly devoted to the love of his life, Debbie, his boys and grandchildren. This love also extended to include his siblings, along with his in laws. His love for Debbie’s family made him a cherished part of the Dunlop family.

Gord’s piece of heaven on earth was his second home, his trailer at Sandy Hook RV Park. He was looking so forward to spending the coming summer there, as he did every spring, but sadly, that was not to be this year. Gord and Debbie were involved in many activities in the Park, but the one that was close to his heart was fund raising for CancerCare.

Gord battled 4 different cancers in his adult life. With this in mind, in lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations be made to CancerCare in his memory.

A celebration of Gord’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 603 Wellington Crescent at Academy (First Unitarian Universalist Church).

Until we meet again!

Gord was a truly special person – kind, gentle, and full of warmth. My husband and I have many fond memories of our summer vacations with Gord and Deb. We're heartbroken to hear about his passing and will always treasure the time we spent together, especially during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic. Gord's infectious smile and humor brought so much joy to our lives, and he will be deeply missed.

Wow just by typing Gord's name in a web search of his passing. I got to know Gord from buying Champion merchandise from him when he was at Querel Equipment. Then kept on when he went to Wajax also finally meeting him in person as we only talked on the phone. And lastly Volvo merchandise at Westcon. Then lost track of him. Sending sympathies to Gord's family, friends and former co-workers. Rest In Peace Gordon!!

Dear Debbie and family, I am so sorry to hear of Gord’s passing. I remember Gord as a quiet, gentle soul and although we all knew each other personally from years ago I really enjoyed getting to know him through our time working together. He talked often about his kids and his grandkids and his love for them was very apparent.

Please know that my thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time. I hope that the love surrounding you and the memories you shared bring you comfort and strength.

The saddest news I have received in many years. I worked along side Gord in the heavy equipment industry for many years, Huggard Equipment,Champion Road Machinery, and lastly at Querel Equipment. My success was only possible with his support. Gordon is a huge loss to myself and my family. Rest in peace my dear friend 😪
